Shea butter for stretch marks - or any other remedies to help?

Hello,

So I know once you’ve got them they’re here to stay, and there is no preventing them, but I was wondering if anyone had used anything to make them less red/purple and angry looking which actually works?

I’m really struggling with my body and have became suddenly allergic to my normal moisturiser since getting pregnant (gutted cos it smelled amazing!).

I was thinking of trying raw shea butter as I’ve heard good things, or bio oil if anyone has any reviews?

Thank you everyone

Not tried them on existing stretch marks yet but I've been applying bio oil every morning and coconut oil every night since the first trimester. I'm only 26+3 so no idea if it's helping but I haven't got any (yet)

Bodyshop Shea Body butter is fab and also the Palmers Cocoa Butter range. There is only especially for stretch marks, which is the one I use and it's so lovely!
I have super sensitive skin so I have watch what I use and the pregnancy one of Palmers is so lovely and makes your skin so soft!
I'm only 20 weeks so not stretch marks just yet and I'm hoping it stays that way.
My friend used the same lotion all the way through her pregnancy and didn't get a single one! It's not overly expensive either 👍🏻

I'm only 15 weeks and using plain almond oil as scented oils/creams irritated me. It seems good so far.

I'm on pregnancy number 3 and it's bio-oil all the way for me. No stretch marks at all.

I'm not sure whether it would necessarily help with fading but what I've been using (when I remember) is a concoction I made of castor oil (safe externally), coconut oil and raw shea all melted and mixed together. It's very moisturizing but a bit messy/greasy. I haven't got any stretch marks yet (36w)

Raw shea butter is definitely worth a try and better than buying any shea based moisturizers or products as they add so much unnecessary stuff to most of the shop bought stuff. Dry skin brushing may be worth trying to fade them aswell. :)

I started using bio oil a few days ago as I had started getting stretch marks, it does seem to have helped reduce the appearance, but only time will tell. I’m only 19 weeks so mine aren’t that bad yet. My mum and friend sweared by bio oil.

I'm 35 weeks and just started to get some really violent looking stretch marks. My sister has recommended rosehip oil so i've just started trying that.

I've been using bio oil and palmer's throughout, didnt have any until I was around 39+4. I think it's more genetics unfortunately! But I do find the cream helps with a dry itchy bump.

I'm only 15 weeks but I've bought a Secret Saviours band that I will use to prevent stretch marks further down the line. I also have Palmer's and Bio Oil. In terms of improving current stretch marks, I've been using Bio Oil on a scar and it has made a big difference in a matter of weeks. It just looks less angry and so much less noticeable now.
