Headaches in early pregnancy

I'm four weeks pregnant, Im absolutely delighted, after trying for five years we finally got to the top of the list for fertility treatment in March only for it to be postponed due to Covid-19. So it's a really happy surprise.

Anyway I've had a pretty constant headache for the past week, it gets worse when I stand up then it eases to a dull throb. Is this pregnancy related? Normally when I get a headache I increase my water intake but it hasn't helped.

I’m getting them too@WindsorBlues - seems to be the same time every night too, from around dinner time till bedtime, a dull ache band round the back and crown of my head. They’re not terrible but I have had the odd paracetamol. Similar to you water doesn’t help. Congrats on your pregnancy x

Yep, I'd say so. This is my 3rd baby and I've suffered with the same hormonal headaches. Do you normally get headaches around the time you have your period? I always do so quite used to that horrible dull ache. Unfortunately I also suffer with migraines later on in the pregnancies. It's really tough not being able to take much for them either. If this is your first baby then make the most of naps and taking it easy. Like you said, drinking water doesn't ease it but it may stop them from getting worse so keep drinking. If this is not your first baby then good luck, it's a tough ride with other children in tow!! Xx

Hi, just wanted to say I’ve been having the exact thing. I’m 4+1, and have had headaches for the past 5 days since my BFP. It feels like a hormone headache I would sometimes get before period.

Headaches are a symptom of pregnancy regardless of what stage you're at.
Hopefully they won't get too bad for you! 🥰

Thanks for the responses, I'm glad they're considered normal, you've put my mind a rest. It's will be baby no1 for us and will be first grandchild so I've no one else to talk to at this very early stage. 😀

It's is a great excuse for why DH needs to be the one to make all the trips into the kitchen for chocolate and cups of tea 😂.
