Bleeding after sex (TMI)

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and haven't really felt like having sex with DH whilst pregnant but thismorning we did have sex for the first time in 10 weeks! (Lucky him) 😃

After we finished I wiped and noticed blood on the tissue, there was also a bit of blood on him. I didn't think anything of it but I'm still getting blood now when I wipe, we had sex at 8.30am. It's light pink in colour and not heavy.

I haven't had any bleeding throughout my pregnancy and my placenta is high and not covering my cervix. I had a scan yesterday due to a couple of blood test results and everything looked great.

Should I be worried? Should I call triage and let them know? Or just monitor it at home?

If you are concerned please call them. They are there for that reason.

Hi OP

I had this with my first pregnancy, got checked, I wasn't worried tbh as I could feel my baby still kicking.
But I did get checked, everything was ok, I had to tell them what I was doing before the bleeding!

It was only a small amount of blood and quite light in colour too.

Everything was ok I remember being around 35 weeks.
But if your concerned I would get checked, I think they would recommend you getting checked.

Keep safe & all the very best.

Get checked. I had this around 22 weeks and because I’m Rhesus negative, I had to go into to hospital to have an anti-D injection.

Even if you’re not rhesus negative, they may want to just check you out.

From what I understand it's most likely that your cervix is just sensitive and has been irritated buy sex. Give your midwife or the labour ward a ring for reassurance but I would expect they'll say if it's just a small amount and not increasing then you're fine.

Thanks everyone, I gave maternity triage a call and they said it doesn't sound like anything to worry about but to keep an eye on it and if it's still happening tomorrow morning or I get pains then to call them back 😊
