25 weeks and was convinced I was in labour last night

Had a horrific day yesterday. LO was moving all day but in very strange verging on painful ways. Lady bits (sorry crap wording) were throbbing, back aching and regular having massive pains all across belly. Actually sat in bathroom crying at one point. Had diarhoa (completely wrong spelling I know) which i guess was the real cause of the stomach ache, but i convinced myself that it was labour, was sick and cried my eyes out like a baby.

Please reassure me I am not totally crazy. This is number 2 so not sure why I thought it was labour.

Forget GP - go to hospital

I had the same at 24.5 weeks and went to GP who perscribed paracetomol and asked if everything was OK at home because I was crying.

48 hours of agony later I took myself to the hospital and walked into their pregnancy A&E to discuss pain and for quick check up with midwife.

12 hours later had very prem baby

How are you? Hope it went ok at the hospital.

Morning,

Hi Piggy - wow you are up bright and early.

Well I went in yesterday to the labour ward which I was quite apprehensive about. They monitored the baby who just moved constantly so they had to keep moving the pads and done an awful internal - four people all standing at the bottom of the bed peering up my bits. But ultimately no more real pain, just unfcomfyness and cervix not dilated so no worries about prem labour thank god.

In the notes he just put

? Unspecified pain
? Braxton hicks

No urine infection present so they seemed to have ruled out all the bigger things, so maybe I was just gettign it all out of proportion with hormones and stuff.

Very glad you all encouraged me to go in though as I feel much more relaxed now.

Thanks guys for all you words of wisdom yesterday.

Good to hear it all went well, it's great to have peace of mind.

Piggy · 19/09/2007 08:08

Delighted to hear it mixedmama.

p.s. this time next year you'll think 7.15 is mid morning - it certainly is chez Piggy with 2 toddlers.....

mixedmama · 19/09/2007 08:16

I am lucky with DS at the moment he gets up between 7.30 - 8.30 but will just come and play in our room or get into bed with us until we get up, but suspect you are right that will be considerably more difficult with 2.
