Hi all.
Just wondering if anyone can help, i haven't actually been diagnosed with this. However I'm pretty sure I have it, I had a D&C in November and ever since I've suffered 2 chemical pregnancys and extremely heavy painful periods. I never use to suffer with period pains like this, I can hardly move the first day. Does this sound like I could if anyone has ever suffered? Xxx

Doesn’t Asherman’s give you lighter periods rather than heavier ones? I had a friend who had it and she hardly had periods at all.

Yes as PP said, you'd have no periods or only very light ones due to adhesions which would stop blood passing through during menstruation.

@Darkstar4855 @LASandOtto yeah I read this, and then I read 'a change in menstral cycle and cramps and pains' so that freaked me out. So really it's more likely people who have light periods and none at all? Xx

The first couple of cycles after a miscarriage can be very different to your usual cycles. My most painful heavy cycle in my life was the second cycle after miscarriage, I had a chemical that cycle as well. Sounds very similar to you. It’s a really anxious time for lots of reasons but it doesn’t sound at all like Ashermans OP - wishing you luck going forward. X

Hey there, I was diagnosed with ashermans syndrome and have been treated and I had zero symptoms. There are some frequent symptoms but I had heavy periods and still had scarring. I've had 7 miscarriages and I agree often the periods after have been more painful for me. I'd give it another month or so and then share your concerns with GP or RMC if you're under one. Most will offer an ultrasound at least after D&C if you push you may get a HSG which is the best diagnositic test you can get with a general anaesthetic. Good luck x

I have been treated for Ashermans syndrome, I had it very severely after a traumatic D&C. So much so my periods stopped and in place of periods I just got the worst cramps and pain possible!

It’s unlikely they would find Ashermans on an ultrasound scan too - my ultrasound came out fine but when I had a laparoscopy to explore my lack of periods the scarring was so bad they could not get any further with the dye test they performed. I later had surgery to remove the scarring and I’m now pregnant.

One of the first tests they did for me was gave me a hormone to kick start my periods, when that didn’t work and I had no bleeding is when they suspected Ashermans.
