Hello I'm Jo, 37 mum to a 13y/o girl and 10y/o boy.

A year ago today we lost our baby.... Imagine my surprise when I took these today!

Here is my story and why I'm being cautious!

I don't know the exact date I had my last proper period... but it was my Birthday on the 30th March and I know I was on then...

Fast forward to the 9th April, we dtd and I'm pretty sure I had ov pain on 10th/11th April - on 21st April I woke up and had some blood when I wiped so thought it is my period so popped in a tampax, went to change it a few hours later and there was a tiny bit of blood 🤷‍♀️ This confused me as it has never happened before... the next day quite late it happened again so did the same - woke up and no blood... Thinking I could be pregnant I told DH and said if no period next day I'd get a test... woke up next day and the bleeding had returned and was quite heavy... However.. I don't recall seeing any clots it wasn't as heavy or as long as my normal period but more than enough for me to think I'd had a period!!

Based on that I was assuming I'd be ovulating this week sometime, this morning after having a pee I wiped and there was blood! Thought it very odd as had had a period 2 weeks earlier - messages a friend later in the day who suggested ruling out pregnancy before speaking to gp... the normal test I took around 3pm after having a cuppa an hour earlier... no squinting needed and came up very quick, not going to lie I was in complete shock! Went back to the chemist and got the digital which I've since read the instructions and it says for a more accurate date indicator use the first pee of the day so I'll do that tomorrow!

Has anyone else had heavy implantation bleeding and then bleeding later on and everything has been ok?

Tomorrow I start progesterone and High doseage Folic Acid and Vitamin D.

I'm so nervous due to a mmc last year at 10 weeks. Praying this time is different!

Thanks for reading xx

Hi Jo, thanks for sharing your story. What a wonderful surprise for you and your family! I know how you feel about being nervous particularly after an MMC. I am in the same boat as you and quite frankly I’m terrified hence me pouring my heart out on here! Going by your dates, I think we fell pregnant around the same time.
I haven’t had any experience with heavy implantation bleeding so I can’t share anything on that subject, but I can tell you that you are not alone in your worries about having a healthy and progressive pregnancy.
I’ve received some lovely messages from women on here who have given some great advice about trying to stay stress-free, keeping a positive mind and keeping your feet up, so you do it too Jo! Flowers

Hi @MrsJoCov I'm so sorry for your loss last year. It' such a hard thing to go through. We've had 3 MMC at 9 weeks and a spontaneous MC at 4 weeks over the past 4 years. I am now 10+4 weeks pregnant and completely understand being cautious. I am also taking progesterone but not taking aspirin right now due to the below reason

Re the bleeding, to add fire to the fuel I had a huge amount of bleeding with clots at 7 weeks and assumed we'd lost the baby. A scan a few days later showed a baby with a heartbeat! I havd a further two huge bleed with clots but my last scan showed a happy wriggly baby at 9+1 weeks. But also a big sub chorionic haematoma which was causing all the bleeding.
I've not bled for 2.5 weeks now and hoping my scan on Monday will show it has dispersed (fingers crossed)

I also had implantation bleed and thought my period had started (as I took the MAP because we didn't want to go through another loss so assumed period was on her way!) and put a tampon in which had barely anything on.

I think you just need lots of rest really. If you keep bleeding make sure you have pelvic rest too (no penetration or orgasms Sad)

I really hope all goes well for you Flowers
