Maternity running shorts?

I’m really fussy about running clothes. I can’t run in leggings (get too hot!) and I like my shorts tight and at least mid thigh to prevent any chafing to which I am terribly prone (chunky muscular legs). I usually wear Castelli or DHB tri shorts. I’m 14 weeks now and my shorts sit in such a weird uncomfortable place now. I’m still taking ondansetron so my digestive system is a bit of a mess and I have really bad bloating on top of my little bump. Last time I was still too sick at this stage to work out and by the time I did my bump was big enough to kind of sit my shorts under!

Has anyone found any decent maternity running shorts? Or n alternative?

@Bienentrinkwasser

I feel your pain! Also a keen runner (though very slow now) and hate overheating, I ran in shorts all winter. I'm still fitting into my Nike shorts, the only maternity running shorts I haven't found that aren't outrageously expensive are these (but they're not tight, and also don't seem to have great reviews - I haven't ordered them yet as hoping to last as long as I can):

Or these say they can be used for exercise and are tighter fitting (but also maybe quite long?)

Maybe you could also try sizing up a bit in non-maternity running shorts?

Do let me know if you find a good place to get them from!

@sunshinefordays Those Asos ones look like they might work! And for £6 you can’t really go too wrong! My backup plan was cheapy Decathlon cycling shorts a couple of sizes too big. I can’t bear the idea of buying £30+ shorts that will be redundant in a few months. Like I say, it wasn’t an issue in my last pregnancy and i’m sure my regular shorts will end up being fine again once the bump is less bloat!
