Does anyone have a recommendation for a good book on this?

Thanks!

I had an app on my phone called Hypnobirthing lite. I could highly recommend it if you don't have time to read a book.

Maggie Howell's Natal Hypnotherapy book and CD were good, not too 'woo' / hippyish for me - I'm very sceptical and I do think it helped with my mental attitude to labour.

I did a Hypnobirthing course for my first. For my second, I foudn the 'Hypnobabies' preferable, t hough the course is quite hard to find in the UK. I think it just was a bit more factual and UK framed, if that makes sense. Lent it to a friend, who as far as I know still has it ...

I’m planning on reading - Siobhan Miller: practical ways to make your birth better.
I bought the digital pack from The positive birth company, and will be following that too x

I second natal hypnotherapy.

I enjoyed The Positive Birth Book by Millie Hill, found it the most comprehensive and laughed out loud a lot.

Also read Hypnobirthing by Marie Mongan and Ina May's guide to childbirth. Got them all second hand on Amazon and would recommend them all.

They all sort of overlap, Ina May was most 'hippy' in feel but I still enjoyed it. First half of it is women telling their birth experiences.

I second Siobhan Miller: practical ways to make your birth better - I found it brilliant. Also try reading The Positive Birth Book by Milli Hill, I found both of them so helpful, turning round my initial terror of giving birth into feeling quite empowered about it all, even in light of the current situation. I also like listening to Emma Kenney on YouTube hypnobirthing - if I wake in the night she has a lovely calming voice, whether I'm taking any of it in or not, I don't know, but I do drift back off to sleep when I listen :) x

I’m loving “Give birth like a feminist” too. Really great read. x

I did The Positive Birth Company online course and also the two day course in London two years ago. Some of the best money I've ever spent, loved hypnobirthing, had a wonderful labour and birth experience and actually can't wait to do it again whenever the time might be.

Siobhan is great, there's an online Facebook group where you can read through people's stories and the course is really detailed in going through the science of what is happening in your body during labour, your rights within the NHS system as well as the breathing and relaxation techniques. Honestly couldn't fault the course they really covered everything.
