Is it a miscarriage or normal? Help

I think I am just over 6 weeks pregnant. The past few days I have had brown discharge with some clots. Also breast tenderness has pretty much gone. I done a test this morning that still says pregnant.

Has anyone else had these symptoms? Is it miscarriage? I just hate not knowing it’s all I can think about!

Give your doctor a call for advice. A test would still show positive until all hcg has left your body so not a reliable result.

You might be able to self refer to local epu for an early scan.

Brown blood could just be old blood in your uterus but definitely worth getting checked out.

Good luck, i have my fingers crossed for you 💗

I did in my last pregnancy and unfortunately I miscarried. Bleeding in early pregnancy is not always bad news though, and my doctor at the time said it was common and sometimes implantation bleeding can occur at 6 weeks as everything settles in. Have you called your doctor for advice? Unfortunately at this stage, it's more of a waiting game than anything but I hope you get answers soon. Rest up and take care xx

Thanks girls. I haven’t called my doctor yet. I feel they will just advise it’s a waiting game too. Everything I read online says it could be normal or it could be miscarriage. And with nothing else to do in current situation I’m driving myself crazy looking online.

I thought I would have red blood with miscarriage, I just don’t know

As above, could be absolutely fine or could be a sign of miscarriage, and time will tell. However, you can ask your GP to arrange some blood tests for you, an HCG level now and in 48hrs will give you a good indication of what’s going on.
Your EPU may scan you or may not, seems to vary a lot between places and they often tell you to wait if it is just light bleeding.
Good luck x

I would call midwife just to put your mind at ease. I never got implamantation bleeding but I think it should be more spotting than clots. But some woman say they have a heavy bleed then all is fine I would call and they might get you in for a scan asap xx

I hope everything turns out ok for you.

When I miscarried (3 times), I had bright red, period like bleeding.

With my most recent pregnancy, I had brown spotting between 6-10 weeks and also the odd occasion where I had a bit of red blood and some very small clots. I was petrified that I had miscarried again but had an early scan at 6 weeks and all was ok and she is now 5 weeks old.

Definitely give a midwife a call so they can get you in for an early scan.

daisy112 did your other pregnancy symptoms come and go in your successful pregnancy?

I didn't have any symptoms at all until about 13/14 weeks. I remember thinking that I couldn't possibly still be pregnant the whole way through the First Trimester and couldn't believe my eyes at 12 week scan. I hope it all works out ok for you Smilex

Oh wow! That would have been a shock then. I think because my breasts were tender and now they’re not I’m putting 2 and 2 together and getting 12. I think I’ll just have to wait a couple more weeks then test again. I spoke to my doctor and he said as there wasn’t any blood it wasn’t a big concern at the moment x

I had very few symptoms in my first trimester; mainly just tender boobs and feeling tired. Not something I would have normally put down to pregnancy. If you're still bleeding in a couple of days or if it gets heavier, call your GP again. Even if they say it's still a case of waiting, it's better to call them than not, for reassurance.
