Vitamin D deficiency

Hi! just wondering if anyone else has had this or is in the same position. Just before I found out I was pregnant I was feeling poorly with some sort of virus - cold chills, pains in joints, general ill feeling etc. I then found out I was pregnant a few weeks later but my symptoms seemed to be sticking around and I feel like I can't shake them. I went for blood tests at my Dr and they came back with Vitamin D deficiency - which I've since read can cause sore joints, aching bones, general malaise etc. Has anyone experienced this in pregnant? I'm now 7 weeks pregnant and it's hard to tell whether the pregnancy is making the symptoms worse or whether they started beforehand?! I'm on high strength vitamin D tablets but still feel the same - I'm also concerned as I've read vitamin D deficiencies can cause rickets in babies and can also cause pre eclampsia and gestational diabetes. This is all in additional to the morning sickness, sore breasts, fatigue etc - I feel like I'm having a pretty miserable start to pregnancy! Any help would be great! Thanks!

Most people in the UK are deficient. I’m sure you’ll start feeling better soon but the tablets won’t work overnight.

Same as me I'm 7 weeks and told I had a vit d deficiency a couple of months ago. I've been on a multi vit with vit d and the gp seems to think this will be fine. I'm going to see whether they can repeat the blood tests if I feel worse later in the pregnancy which could be an option for you?

Babies suck everything out of us, they'll take what they need so you'll probably be OK but if your gp or midwife are concerned or something comes up on the scan I'm sure it will be dealt with.

It's pretty common in the UK
