No they don’t check pelvic bones. They measure size of baby from about 25 weeks and if baby measuring too big/small or growth seems inappropriate for the number of weeks of pregnancy they would arrange a scan. There is no accurate way of predicting whether a baby is too big to fit through a pelvis which is why they don’t measure pelvic size.

They don't measure pelvic size.

I'm quite small and there was no mention of pelvic size when I was pregnant with DD who actually did get stuck but I think that was more because she was back to back.

Where I am they measure baby from 28 weeks

There is no way of measuring the size of the pelvic outlet...well maybe an MRI or something but it would be pointless. Hip size bears no relation to a women's ability to give birth as width of pelvis does not relate to the pelvic outlet which is the bit the baby passes through. Most women have a gynaecoid pelvic outlet which is perfectly shaped for birth. It is not common at all for a women not to be able to birth a baby. ..even a big one because of her pelvis.

They will measure baby regularly, they wont measure the size of your pelvis. They may decide on a C Sectuon if it is very unlikely baby willl fit for some reason.

They started measuring my bump at 24/25 weeks I think. However if you end up being sent for growth scans, they no longer measure your bump and will just rely on what measurements the scans show instead as to how big or small the baby is.

Thanks for the help ladies! It's just me and my husband have a history of large babies in our families so I am just freaking out a bit if the baby will be big and I might need c section for that lol

It's so rare it isn't done routinely. I got stuck because my mum's pelvis was too small and she had an EMCS and later a CT scan confirmed that no baby would ever have been delivered naturally. It had happened to my grandmother too so back in the 60s she'd also had an EMCS for the same reason. My mum isn't small so you'd never know by looking at her and I wasn't exceptionally large (8"8 though, so not tiny either)
