Hey..
I have a scan booked for 32 weeks and being a ftm thought this was normal however after talking to friends who have recently had a baby they have questioned why this is as they didn't have one? I was in hospital the other day with reduced movements and the midwife asked who had booked it then (i was told at 28 week appointment I'd be having this scan and to await a letter). So now I'm confused is it normal? What are the reasons for having this scan?
Sorry if I sound silly but I have anxiety issues anyway and I'm getting increasingly anxious x

Are you an ivf mum or gave any medical condition like epilepsy or diabetes? Did you have a 30 week scan?

Nope.. Ftm 26 I do have a high bmi though? No other medical conditions.
Last scan was 28 weeks then I have a 30 week midwife appointment tomorrow :)

If your BMI is high then it's likely to be a growth scan - they do a third trimester scan to assess fetal size. I had this with both my boys although both were normal sizes.

Yep I agree with Shelley. To make sure the baby growing normally. Not offered to everyone but still very normal.

I'm having a scan at 28 weeks, 32, and 36. It was the same during my last pregnancy. They are growth scans due to my BMI (in my case a LowBMI but think is Same process for high BMI)

I have a paper in my folder which explains in catagories who gets a scan and why. See if you have something in your folder.

I have a 32 week scan to check my placenta as it was low lying at my 20 week scan. I also have a higher BMI.
