Gum infection and pregnancy

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and I think my bottom wisdom tooth is breaking through the skin! I'm 27 so a bit old for this to be happening now but my wisdom tooth has been impacted for a while and it looks like it's chosen now to come through.

I spoke to my dentist today who was reluctant to prescribe me antibiotics but said I could get them if it gets worse. He thinks I have a slight infection in it but I should try and manage it with salt water rinse and cleaning the area well.

How can I tell between a tooth coming through or an infection? The pain is moderate, it bleeds when I brush it and I can see a little bit of tooth poking through now.

I'm getting myself in a panic because I've read there's a link between gum infections and serious implications on the baby 😞 I have anxiety and I can't stop thinking of the worst! I think I will call my dentist back tomorrow and ask for the antibiotics? I don't want to take them if it's just my tooth coming through but then I don't want to ignore it if it's infected.

My dentist won't see me because of covid-19 so I sent him a picture of my tooth.

Stop googling. Go mad with the salt water rinses for the next 24hrs. Make sure you brush teeth regularly especially around that area, if the salt water solution is going to help it will help within the next day or so. If your area concerned after that then give them a call. I have had this and I was told corsodyl or salt water rinses and it worked. I was told they are both as effective as each other.
