Maternity bra - help!

Hi all..This is my first pregnancy so quite new to everything and terrified!

When I first thought about maternity bras I thought it would all be ok, I'd go get measured and hit the shops...But now everything has changed :(

I think I need to attempt measuring myself at home. What has everyone else done?

Any recommendations for places to buy? I had a look at good old m&s and mostly out of stock. I'm also slightly large as 34DD pre pregnancy

Would you also recommend a sleeping bra?

I bought mine from mothercare. I didn't bother getting measured just bought my regular size. That worked for me but if you need to you could always buy a size bigger when necessary. Xx

This is the only time I would miss mothercare. They were great at bigger sizes and almost a year later their nursing bras have stood the test of time. But that doesn't help you.

I would normally suggest m&s but as you say circumstances don't really make it suitable at the moment.

I'd also say that measuring is pointless as every shop will be different.

I went up one cup size and back size in early pregnancy and stayed that way even through breastfeeding. Some women keep growing which again makes it difficult.

One thing that might help you at the moment is amazon wardrobe. You can order 6 items at a time and try them all on and you only pay for ones you keep. I'd start by going up one cup size and back size.

Bravissimo are offering sizing help via phone/email/online to try and help.

Thanks all! I'm roughly 13 weeks and finding it hard to gauge how much bigger I've gone!

I have sore boobs sleeping so thinking I might need some night time support..But equally could be normal because of changes

@knightlight good tip going one size up to start. I think I'll try that

I lived in seamless ones like these - they are SO stretchy that they grow with you a bit, and the band is very soft and deep for when your bump gets very big. Mine were from M&S but these are the same concept: https://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/seamless-maternity-nursing-bras-b4826.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI77a84PiH6QIVVu3tCh15SwwEAQYByABEgKDFFDBwE

Getting measured would be pointless anyway as your size will change so much during pregnancy. Stretchy crop top type things are the way to go.

I have always used this sort of thing

www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/emma-jane-seam-free-maternity-nursing-bras-b7522.html

They're comfy, and grow and shrink as you do, before and after birth and with breastfeeding etc. I didn't want to be constantly buying and getting refitted. I bought a few of these, and they're so comfy that I actually sleep in them too when my breasts are at their fullest/ heaviest.

They're not the most glamorous, and once things had settled down a bit with feeding then I did get measured for a "proper" bra, but it actually only fitted me for a few months before I changed size again...! So back to these i went!

I would get these OP. Of all the maternity bras I’ve found them the most comfortable. Yes they’re ugly but truly I’ve found them the most supportive and comfortable. They’ve got removable padding if you don’t want that in

Based on your size above you’d probably want a medium.

Hi
At 13 weeks it might work out cheaper to buy new normal bras and wait until closer to your due date to buy nursing ones. I'm 27 weeks and my bra size has changed multiple times (my usual bras were a little big to begin with). So I bought some non-wired T-shirt bras from M&S on their website (rather than the app) they have a really good bra measuring assistant you help identify your new size. Would be worth a try. I went up a back size rather than a cup size and I would have bought a bigger cup size if I'd not done the measuring.
