I did, many years ago. GP initially said there was no medication he could safely prescribe.
One day my mum came round and found me unconscious on the settee with two young children watching tv. She made lunch for them, I woke up and she said she was going home to phone the GP.
Not sure what she said but a prescription was ready to collect at 4pm that day.
Yes this was many years ago but my baby was fine, the tablets helped me immensely and I’m sure it’s worth getting a telephone consultation to ask your GP if they can prescribe anything
Good luck

I’ve posted this myself and had migraines most days from 6 weeks and I’m now 17 weeks .. it’s been horrendous. I really feel for you. Are you taking any pain killers? Try and drink as much water as possible and maybe a coke a day with your pain killers. Try not to get tired, get to bed when you can and try and have a nap daily if you need it. Also if this carries on ring your gp for a phone appointment. Mine prescribed beta blockers as it has a side effect of reducing migraines (have stopped taking them as my bp is low anyway and it dropped very low and I was too breathless and dizzy) they also said I can take sumatriptans which I tried but made me violently sick and my throat went tight (common side effect) so I don’t take them either. I was also told I can take codiene as they were so bad I couldn’t get out of bed. Of corse I am not telling you to take these just telling you the options my gp gave so you might have an idea of what the gp might do should they continue.
Flowers hope they ease up for you it’s awful XX

I had this, it was awful. I read somewhere that taking salt can help migraines and I know it sounds crazy but I did and it really helped. I'd take an eighth of a teaspoon with a glass of water 3 times a day and salt my food and the migraines massively decreased. I also started taking a magnesium and vit d3 supplement.

I had this at 6 weeks pregnant. I had it for 4 days straight and was sick up to 14 times in one day. My husband had to stay at home too to look after my daughter. I am 11 weeks pregnant now and they have improved sooo much and I haven't been sick with a migraine since I was 6 weeks pregnant. Hopefully the same will happen for you

I've suffered with migraines in both my pregnancies during the 1st trimester. The first pregnancy I actually ended up going in an ambulance to hospital as my colleagues at work thought I was having a stroke. This was an extreme migraine and I'd never had one before caused by a combination of pregnancy hormones, lack of water and work stress. This time I wanted to be more prepared so I always made sure I'd eaten enough, drunk enough and cut down on the stress levels (new job helped!). I spoke to the GP who said it was fine to take two yellow migraleve tablets and 1 paracetamol the moment I felt a migraine coming on (but you must ring a GP for advice if this is something you feel may help).. . I've had 3 in this pregnancy the medication /sleep has controlled them. The good news is that most migraine sufferers actually see a reduction in migraines past the 1st trimester. Definitely ring the doctor and ask for advice....and rest up.. They usually take two days or so to completely go and will probably leave you with a little tingling, and absolutely shattered.

Sumatriptan can be prescribed in pregnancy. Phone the GP or 111 to speak to an OOH GP - you don't need to suffer like this.

That's good that you slept.. Whenever I have a migraine (during pregnancy and not) thats the only thing that really makes it all better. I also carry tablets around with me. The secret I think is to catch them early. I'm lucky in a sense that I can feel them coming on, my head feels 'funny' then I get the funny wavy lines in my eyes followed by flashes of light and then the pounding in the head starts. If you know what to look out for you can take medication before it gets too bad. Recovery is much quicker too. Mine were definitely worse during 1st trimester but I don't get them at all 2nd and 3rd. I'm sure that when I've had baby, they will come back on a regular basis again. 😔😔 Hope you feel better soon and get the advice from the GP that you need.

I posted a similar thread a few weeks ago - I've always suffered with occasional hemiplegic migraines (the horrible stroke like ones) on and off but early pregnancy has really increased them. From about 4-9 weeks I was getting them about twice a week and can't take my normal medication. There's not a great deal we can take safely which makes it hard. I found a cool cloth/one of the cooling patches on my forehead and back of neck, paracetamol straight away with plenty of water and a nap was all I could do. If it gives you any hope, I'm now 10+3 and haven't had one for almost 2 weeks so fingers crossed they don't last long for you and are just an unpleasant first trimester thing x

This has been me the past couple of days. I found putting an ice pack in my head and neck helped a little and I got my OH to rub the back of my neck. Feel awful on my little boy but couldn't face anything today. It has eased as the day has gone on.
