Cheaper alternative to Babybjorn bouncer?

Not sure if this is the right section but there doesn't seem to be a 'newborn' section on MN?

Anyway, I want to get a Babybjorn Bliss bouncer, mainly because it lies so flat and we live in a small flat, but also because the simplicity and longevity look really good. Has anyone discovered a cheaper version of this type of bouncer? One which lies completely flat, easy for travel, and coverts into a chair (so lasts for 2 years)?

Trying to avoid forking out £150!

Honestly it's worth it - see if you can get it second hand? The fabric seat bit is washable and you can wipe down the frame.

Okay thanks @NameChange30. What do you like about it? I've just seen some on Amazon about £50 cheaper. Do you recommend the mesh, jersey or quilted?

Look on Facebook, I got one in perfect condition for £40 with a toy bar and can probably sell on for similar after xx

I think we have the jersey one, haven't looked at the others. It was a few years ago (DS is 3 now but we've kept it for DC2!)

It's just really good quality, simple effective design, a few recline options, I like that you can fold it flat - you can tuck it away in gaps under/next to furniture. We took it with us in the car when driving places. We got the wooden toy bar with it which DS liked.

Do you have any family members wanting to buy you "big ticket" items? My parents and DH's parents were quite generous and asked what we wanted/needed, so we got the bouncer from parents.

Great idea! Thanks very much for the advice :-)

Hi @PinkSneakers ! I've been looking at these too on John Lewis but noticed they are a lot cheaper on amazon! Last time I checked around £110.00. I keep umming and aaring over getting one not sure if it looked a bit 'boring' for baby.. what are people's thoughts?! X

Love it - used everyday for 2 babies. Baby is so comfortable, much more than other bouncers and it is portable and easily stored.

Joie have a version which folds flat which is £50, has various recline settings, two vibrate speeds and a toy bar included. The vibrate setting on our bouncer was a lifesaver when DD was tiny, she loved it and it got her off to sleep every time.

I love my baby bjorn and still use it at 9 months old. I got mine for £99 on John Lewis so maybe keep searching for deals. A friend got a second hand one, washed the cover in the machine and honestly, it’s pristine. They are built to last.

NameChange30 · 24/04/2020 06:55

Ah yes Sophie has found the best price on amazon!
It's not boring for baby, DS liked his. He liked watching the washing machine Grin
I do recommend the toy bar, we had the wooden one.

@PinkSneakers I got a BabyBjorn one off EBay for £60 so definitely worth looking on there if you haven't! X

Have a look for a local parents Facebook group and do a post to ask if anyone is selling one on! I got one of the nice jersey ones in perfect condition, with the top bar included, for £45 on our local Facebook group last month.
