Early pregnancy signs

Good morning,

I recently have found out I am pregnant although I am still not completely convinced - even after taking 3 tests! It sounds silly but I don't know what to expect so I am not sure if the symptoms I am feeling are normal or not. My test says I am 3+ weeks (I expect approx 4-6 weeks).

  1. Tiredness - mainly morning and night
  2. Bit foggy-brain/lethargic
  3. Jippy belly followed by diarrhea (TMI)
  4. Dry tongue in the morning and so thirsty!
  5. Almost fainted yesterday
  6. Sore belly
  7. Aches and Pains (esp. lower back and legs)

I really need some guidance on if these symptoms are normal as I feel quite confused and as we are keeping it a secret (for now), I have no one to turn to to ask.

Also, on a separate note, if we are having our baby in another area to where we live, will we see a community midwife linked to another hospital?

What is the normal procedure for getting appointments? I have contacted my GP and Drs but still not heard back. I do know how busy they are in the current climate so completely understand, but also feel I need to have that support.

Thank you!

Yes they’re all classic normal symptoms, though every woman and pregnancy is different.

Why are you having the baby so where other than where you live?

Its still quite early for doctors to do anything, where I am you self refer direct to the midwives, the GP doesn’t really do anything except tell you to do that

Congratulations Smile

Thank you for your reply.

I am just quite nervous things are 'normal' as a new Mum-to-be.
Glad to hear that it is.

Is a cold sore normal too?

We want to have the baby in another area as we think the hospital is better suited to us. Its about 30-40 mins from our house.

Anxiety is also a normal part of pregnancy! Read around here and you’ll see

You can have your baby anywhere you like, but do consider what a 40 minute drive will be like when you’re in labour and can feel every turn! But go and see a couple of places maybe, it’s your right to do so.

Cold sores have nothing to with pregnancy, they’re a virus
