Early induction and breastfeeding

I’m going to be induced at 38 weeks and am hoping to EBF. I noticed one drop of colostrum on my nipple for the first time yesterday, which was positive! Do you think my proper milk supply will naturally start early if the baby is born via induction, or could there be a couple of weeks’ delay because my body wasn’t expecting to go into labour early?

I have never been induced but my youngest two children were born by planned csection at 38 weeks. My milk came in fine with both. Have you tried hand expressing to see what’s there already? It usually takes around three days after birth for your full milk to come in.

Was induced at 37 weeks and worried about the same but no reason to, milk came in day 3/4 and no issues ! Good luck x

Induced at 37 weeks. Never even crossed my mind there might be milk production issues. I had an oversupply when my milk came in on day 3.

@waterlily7 what makes the body start producing milk is the extraction of the placenta, so whenever that happens, your milk will shortly follow, usually between 2-5 days. All your baby needs before that is your colostrum.
However I think people mentioned this on one of your previous threads by various names Hmm
