To take food for induction or not?

What happens in regards to meals/food when you're induced in the UK?

Should I take some pre-prepared meals and snacks in with me? I've never had a stay in hospital so not sure what hospital food/meals procedures are like.

If you’re admitted you’ll be fed x3 meals a day.
But take snacks. Snacks are always good.

The food is not the best and you may be there a while! Take as much as you can and a couple bars or bags of your favourite sweets! 😂

To add: I only say this as the food is questionable! 😝

Definitely take some with you. And take lots of snacks. The hospital will provide food but its basic and you will probably find yourself hungry in between

Always take food!!

Definitely. Many of the normal cafes in hospitals are closed now so take food. Good luck! Thanks

I was rarely offered food when I was there, certainly never breakfast. The majority of the food is terrible and unless they tell you what it is, you can't even guess what it's supposed to look like. I was admitted to hospital several times during my pregnancy, including for induction and I'd definitely suggest you take your own snacks and pre-prepared meals. My DP brought me cooked food in an insulated bag several times in the early hours as I was so hungry after having to leave my hospital meals.

My induction took 3 days. They supplied 3 meals a day, but tbh they weren’t very good - and were very stodgy.

Definitely take snacks.

Mine took 4 days, so definitely take snacks. The food I was offered was pretty grim to be honest. My DH and I were able to go for a pub lunch (next to the hospital) on the first couple of days as not much was happening!

I vomited throughout my induction (just over 24 hours) and was so listless and lacking in energy by the end. So perhaps take a variety of things to try in case you aren't well.
