Just that really, 19weeks and struggling when I'm out the house for work (NHS role), not sure if I should go off?

Not yet. But really struggling too.
Keyworker role.
I've just had to do isolation due to family member showing symptoms.
I really am fearful and don't want to return.
I've had health issues in the past that make me think I'll be very poorly if I get this.

Yes, I’ve been on leave for pregnancy related stress and anxiety for several weeks now but plan to return next week, at 22 weeks. I couldn’t do my job properly as I wasn’t sleeping, had bad nausea and I couldn’t concentrate. My doctor recommended it saying I had to put my health and unborn baby first as extreme stress can lead to hypertension etc, and the law states that pregnancy related sickness must not be recorded against a woman in the way ordinary sickness might. I have felt extremely guilty and worried about what my workplace will think of me but this break has done me a world of good physically and mentally. You have to put yourself first at this time

Me. I'm 20 weeks and have been signed off for a month due to stress. Mostly trying to wfh and look after a three year old it was making me miserable and so stressed which the gp wasn't happy about. Now I just have to deal with a threenager!!!

Murree · 21/04/2020 21:31

I'm currently signed off with stress. I work in the nhs non patient facing but with colleagues who are and I cant maintain 2 metres distance.
I started having panic attacks about going to work and being put at risk so GP signed me off for a month.

Whatnowwww · 21/04/2020 21:50

Hi ladies above who have taken one month off, please can I ask what you plan to do at the end of the month? My month is due to finish this Friday and whilst I’m just about ok whilst not working, if I have to go back to work I will get stressed and anxious again, especially with pregnancy weakness and IVF anxiety and trying to WFH with a 4 year old. Don’t know whether to ask for a further month, does anyone else intend to? Hope this is relevant to the OP...

Thank you for the responses, for some reason I feel really reluctant to contact the GP but I think I will just do it, I'm also worried the GP won't sign me off for some reason, probably me other thinking again

Make sure that the GP signs you off with pregnancy related stress or anxiety. If your fit note doesn't specify that it is pregnancy related then it can be used in disciplinary proceedings whereas pregnancy related sickness can't.

Also if anyone is earlier in their pregnancy, maternity pay is based on what is earned from weeks 16-24 so if you only get SSP then this can mean that you don't earn enough for SMP.

So I spoke to my manger about my anxieties and he is referring me to Occupational health, anyone have an idea on what they will say?
Should I just go off sick first?

I can't see any way of me working from home, looking after my daughter and not being stressed. I think I will see what is happening a little closer to the time and think a bit more closely about what is reasonable and whether I can work without having the stress.

PP- occupational health at my work are carrying out phone consultations with people who are off sick so I'm not sure it would matter if you were working or not. Hope that's helpful.

Hi ladies . Im 28 weeks pregnant and have been off work sick since march 12 . Also with anxiety but anxiety over possibly contracting the virus.? I work in retail . Im annoyed that in Ireland the government haven't advised pregnant women to cocoon like the uk as advised . This would eliminate having to see gp in relation to this and also claiming to be sick when in actual fact im trying to avoid getting sick. Im hoping to return to work may hoping some good news and restrictions are lifted so that i feel more comfortable going back out into the workplace.
