Pram for short mum

I was hoping to try out prams in a shop as I'm only 5ft1 and worried that if I buy a pram online it will be too tall or bulky for me, but I know that shops may not reopen in time. Does anyone have any recommendations? Ideally under £600. I've got my eye on the ickkle bubba stomp v3 or the silver cross wayfarer, if either of these are suitable? I'll be using it to walk around my area but it will also need to fit in car boot.

I had a similar pram to the wayfarer (silvercross linear sleepover). I'm 5ft 4, not massively short but not tall either. If it's as similar as it looks, it doesn't fold up too small - you still have the full width of the chassis so you need a big boot for it. I ended up with a Ford Focus and could get it in there fine.

Heightwise I found the handle heigh adjustment fine for me and altered well for DH who is taller. It was a brilliant pram for lots of walking. Comfy for me and babies (I used mine for both my older DC) and plenty of basket underneath.

Bugaboo bee is quite small and low down. I’m 5”5 and wished I was shorter tbh when I saw it lol as I felt very tall trying it out a couple of years ago in mothercare.

Thank you, will take a look at them. I have a fiesta so hopefully should fit in.

I'm 5'1 and have the Mamas and Papas Ocarro, I find it comfortable to push and easy to collapse and lift.

I'm 5'2" and found myself a second hand bugaboo chameleon (if memory serves) and it was great. I had had a silver cross before that and the bugaboo lasted 3 babies and was infinitely easier and lighter.

Another short arse here! I have the cosatto wow and love it. It's light and I can manage it easily, unlike some I tried in the shop!

5ft and have an Oyster 3. It's very compact and lightweight for a full travel system. Much less bulky than my friend's Silver Cross- although I don't know the model. Folds very easily and it also folds with the seat still attached (obviously not the bassinet) which helps with boot space. It's the perfect height for me and the handle extends for everyone else. Also very easy for me to bump up and down curbs etc.

I looked at Bugaboo Fox- lightweight but waaay to bulky folded as the seat sticks up. Also looked at the Occaro which was fine

I’m 5ft2 (if I stretch out as far as I can 🙈) and I have the venicci pram, I’ve had no problems and find it perfect, my husband is 6ft and the handle adjustment is quick and easy and suits him fine too!

BlossomGem · 21/04/2020 16:04

Thanks, so many options it's hard to choose!

I’m 5ft and have the Silver Cross Wayfarer, quite big but easy to push round and get in and out of the boot. The handle extends quite far so is also okay for my partner who is 6ft

MondeoFan · 21/04/2020 16:14

Bugaboo Cameleon

I had this and I'm 5" 2

Katiec89 · 21/04/2020 16:16

Another vote for oyster 3! Such a nice easy pram to use!

Megan2018 · 21/04/2020 16:20

I’m 5ft 3, but husband 6ft 3 so we needed good adjustability.
I have the iCandy All Terrain. We live rurally so needed an all terrain version which is pricey but the smaller iCandy’s might suit you. They all have the same basic chassis I think. They are lively to steer one handed, easy to fold and suit tall and short.

Soubriquet · 21/04/2020 16:24

5ft 2 here.

Out n about!!

Don’t get one with a handle that adjusts up on down on itself

Get one that actually bends forwards and backwards. Much easier

Pictures as above

The one with the stars on only adjusts up and down and can be awkward for short people

The other one actually bends right down or right up and is much better

I'm 5 foot and my husband is 6'3. We got the bugaboo bee as you can adjust the handle height and it's a nice compact, light pram. Light enough for me to carry up and down stairs on the tube. I've also got the yoyo and although it's handle height is high is still easy to push

Stee1 · 21/04/2020 22:58

I'm 5 ft 2 oyster 3 here for me too
