Snuzpod - is my bed to tall

Looking at the snuzpod 2 2nd hand and worked out the max height is 57cm, the snuzpod 3 is max height (obviously more expensive) is 63cm our bed with mattress is 66cm, anyone know if we can make this work or do we need to look at alternate options?

I really liked the fact you can detach the crib bit for downstairs sleeping, that was the main appeal.

Thanks :)

Im not sure, but our bed is too high for most. The only one we saw that was higher was by 'BabyBay' the wooden type. But we ended up just getting an ikea regular cot in the end and its at the bottom of out bed. Easier to get in and out of bed for us, and worked out far cheaper as will last until 5 years potentially.

Hey @Sweetpea1989 🥰

We had to send ours back our bed is 68cm divan bed and the snuzpod was literally below the mattress was so too small was gutted! So we have opted for just a little crib non attached to the bed sadly.

Snuzpod was the tallest one out of all the next to me's 😔 xx

Thats such a pain I thought it was a good solution.

Someone has gifted us a crib that will last up to 4 years i think, it just looks huge, so I thought it might be worth getting something smaller for the early months.

Its impossible to second guess what will be best when its the first time doing this. Minefield out there!

Hi :) we used a next2me and it was probably a bit of a waste of money. Our baby only used it for a few months. If I could start again, I would use the Moses basket (we had one downstairs already) and carry the basket part up at night and put it inside the cot to make it 'smaller'.

Sweetpea1989 · 17/04/2020 11:25

I had thought that @WeDontTalkAboutLove but I read so many people that say their baby wouldn't settle in a moses basket, it put me off a little. Seems like a cheaper easier option though.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to predict what your baby will like! For what it's worth, my daughter settled brilliantly in her Moses basket. I think the familiarity of it helped as we used it for all sleep, day and night, for the first few months. She hated her next2me until she was about 4 months and then was in her cot by 5.5m anyway! Good luck - it is a bit of a minefield!

I have a really tall bed. We rented a bednest with my lb 2 years ago. At the end of the rental period they offered the opportunity to purchase so we did.

I bought the clair de lun foldable crib as a solution for 6 months, its so nice and petite worth having a wee look at. Although did really want the snuzpod but just wasn't able to due to the bed height xx

You can still use a Snuzpod with the sides up with a higher bed, you just wouldn’t be able to use it as a co-sleeper. I wouldn’t buy one for the detachable crib alone, however - it is heavy and unwieldy.
