I was wondering what is the best laundry product to use to wash baby clothes, muslins etc before baby comes?

Thanks so much xx

Hi I washed all my baby clothes in Comfort Pure softner and some unbranded sensitive non-bio detergent pods Smile

Due date today so can't report if it caused any reaction or not until my little bub makes his arrival x

First baby, I bought some special product marketed for washing baby clothes, second I just used persil or whatever and all was fine. Second time round I didn’t wash anything new either. But not trying to piss on your chips - it’s fun lovingly washing, folding and preparing the clothes for your sweet little arrival. But just saying don’t worry, use what’s easy. When are you due?

The washing machine Grin Honesly I just used whatever I had at the time. No reactions here.

whatever you use for your normal laundry is fine.
maybe add an extra rinse and go easy on perfumed softeners.

Ladyglitterfairydust · 16/04/2020 19:41

I used fairy non-bio washing powder when they were really little and unperfumed sensitive fabric softener.

I use Aldi non bio washing liquid and Comfort Pure because I love the smell!

Exactly the same stuff I used for our clothes. You spend so long with them attached to you or snuggled against your clothes that it seemed pointless to wash their clothes in different washing powder.

PrimeraVez · 16/04/2020 19:46

I used Waitrose washing liquid for babies/sensitive skin and then Comfort Pure fabric softener. Mine are 4 and nearly 2 now and I still use this as they have sensitive skin.

I have been using surcare because it’s specially formulated for eczema and is the only one that doesn’t make DDs skin flare up. You might be able to get away with using your normal non bio but this is a good option if baby has particularly sensitive skin.

I’m not due til August with my first but also in isolation for 12 weeks so trying to keep busy, so I washed all our little girls clothes in Fairy and some non bio pods . All the girls at work said use anything and if baby seems to be sensitive, then try the more baby branded stuff . They all smell divine I can’t wait to put her in them!

I'd recommend surcare powder or tabs
