I’m new here so hi,
I’m 8 weeks
Woke up in morning and bled through my clothes
Put a pad on and the bleeding was much lighter and had that pad on for hours
Called my gp and they were of no help and said they have no midwife
Long story short after a few calls had to go a&e
They took my urine and said it says I’m pregnant which idk why they did cuz I know I am and if this is a miscarriage then the tear would still be positive for a few days right so that doesn’t help... they told me that they booked me a scan Monday and sometimes bleeding is normal. Today Thursday
Monday seems so far away... but I agreed and left. In this pregnancy the smell of bread being cooked bothered me a lot makes me want to puke but I came home and my mom was making bread and I wasn’t getting that smell anymore... that means I miscarried right ? I couldn’t stand that smell and now I could😢

Im so sorry you're going through this. It's pretty poor that it's taking that long for somebody to see you, I can imagine the anxiety you're feeling right now. I had a similar experience at 7 weeks, I started losing brown blood and then passed fresh red blood with clots. I went to A&E who couldn't do anything and ended up having a scan the next day. Baby was fine with heartbeat ticking away nicely. All bleeding needs to be checked but this doesn't always mean something is wrong. It's actually really common to bleed in the early weeks. Pregnancy symptoms can come and go. I know its nearly impossible, but try not to think the worst before anything is confirmed. Wishing you all the very best.

Sorry to hear this is happening. It doesn’t necessarily, symptoms fluctuate and disappear and I wouldn’t read too much into that.

If you’re bleeding there’s a 50/50 chance of miscarriage which is a lot but you still have a good chance that it’s nothing to worry about and your baby is ok.

Unfortunately you won't know what is going on until you have a scan. Bleeding in pregnancy can be a sign of miscarriage but it can also be normal. I have had 3 pregnancies and bled in all of them in the early weeks. 2 of those pregnancies were viable and continued, 1 was a miscarriage. No explanation of bleeding for the 2 viable pregnancies, the midwives said it was just one of those things.

Sending big hugs to you. I know it's a very hard thing to go through. The uncertainty is horrible xxx

Welcome to mumsnet, and I'm sorry its not better times. I'm surprised they didn't book you sooner in the early pregnancy unit for a scan, rather than waiting till Monday! Unfortunately though, if it is MC, there is nothing that will stop it.

As others have said, some people get bleeding and have a normal pregnancy. I'd read that the most common times to get bleeding are at 4, 8, 12 weeks etc when you would normally have had a period. Something about hormones and body getting 'confused'. There are also cases of twin pregnancies, where one was lost, but the other continues. I've lost 2 pregnancies (11 and 7 weeks) but my bleeding continued on, rather than stopping, and was much heavier.

Remember that its not your fault, but stay strong. Don't discount the pregnancy just yet Flowers
