Eggs 11 days out of date - can I eat?

I have some eggs in the fridge that are 11 days past their best before date. I've done the water test and they've all sunk to the bottom. I was hoping to hard-boil them to make egg mayo sandwiches for lunch, and would normally eat them without any worries. However, I'm 36 weeks pregnant so am a lot more cautious than usual!

Would you eat them or get rid?

The best before date on eggs is extremely conservative. Just do the float test to be on the safe side, although at only 11 days past I wouldn't bother.

Incidentally, I don't understand the people who say not to bother with the float test as you will know it is off when you crack it - I don't want to stink my house out with the smell of rotten egg! Float test every time if I am in any doubt.

They’ll be fine, if they’re off you’ll smell it. Our chickens don’t lay date stamped eggs and they are bbe not use by on shop bought ones.

No

Never had an issue with out of date eggs. They are fairly well sealed and airtight!

The float/sink test is 100% reliable thanks to physics, regardless of whether the consumer is pregnant or there's a pandemic. It's good like that physics! (Gases from rotting egg btw float. No rot, no gas, sink - safe).

Yeah if they sink you're fine. Enjoy your delicious boiled eggs :)
