Waking up with neck and head pain & headaches, anyone had this before?

So I’m not sure if it’s related to being pregnant but for the last 3/4 nights I’ve been waking up and my head feels so weird and heavy and tingly, usually for the first few mins after waking I also have a really slight headache which fades after I’ve sat up.

I’m finding it really hard to get back to sleep afterwards though as no matter how I lie my neck and head feel so uncomfortable and tingly (hence why I have been awake since 3.30am 😫) my ears and nose also feel blocked but I’ve not had a cold or anything like that.

I have a pregnancy pillow but whether I use it or not I wake up and my head feels really heavy and like there’s pressure at the back.

I don’t know if this is something to do with the way I’m lying, the pressure of my bump, or if it’s even pregnancy related at all!

Has anyone else had this?

I've had similar from about week 16 till now (20wks). Heavy head, pressure headaches in forehead and eyes especially in the morning on waking, bunged up and nose bleeds. Headaches got so bad and lasting all day I called my GP and he diagnosed sinisitus and has given me a nasal steroid spray which seems to be working, just the odd headache now. I'm not convinced its sinisitus as I always get bad hayfever starting around this time of the year so could be allergies. But either way the spray seems to be helping. If it gets worst/constant headache wise I'd give your gp a ring. Hope you get it sorted soon.

If the headache is only there with the neck pain, it's probably caused by tension from your neck and shoulders due to sleeping position.
Get your DP to give you a neck and shoulder rub, invest in a memory foam pillow for more support.

Headaches in pregnancy are normal, for the most part. Hormones galore, becoming dehydrated more easily. If it's persistent then speak to a DR.

Your ears and nose feeling blocked- are you sleeping with the window open? Tree pollen is on the move right now.
