Hi. I'm am 19+3 and this is my first pregnancy. I am becoming a bit stressed as I haven't felt my baby move yet at all. I haven't even had an flutters. I know I have a posterior placenta (don't know if this is important). I am also a bit overweight, so did already carry some weight around my stomach. I wondered if anyone had experienced the same as I am starting to feel quite down now? Thank you in advance

I’m 24 weeks +2 and have felt no movement so I know how you feel. I have an anterior placenta though.

It’s still early and could happen for you shortly, they say it can take up to 24 weeks. I think some babies just take a little longer than others 😊

Also, it can take a longer if you are a bit overweight/have weight around your middle. So I wouldn’t worry x

Yeah I had the same with my second pregnancy, was really worried but it's just the way he was positioned. I had a healthy (almost 11lb) baby.

I don’t think I properly felt my first until 22 weeks. It’s easier to feel subsequent babies, first ones it’s difficult to tell. I was so stressed out by not feeling movements but then as soon as baby got bigger the movements got uncomfortable. Try not to worry.

I'm pregnant with my 4th and this is the first time I've felt movement early, around 19 weeks. During my other pregnancies, especially my first, I didn't feel anything until around 22 weeks. It's very normal. Baby is still very small and there's quite a bit of room in there at the moment.
Those few weeks between the 12 week scan and the 20 week scan really are the most stressful in my opinion.

Ang3113 · 11/04/2020 07:55

Thank you all for the reassurance. I have found this stage difficult as dont have the sickness anymore to constantly remind me I'm pregnant, but also not really showing or feeling anything. Bit of an inbetween stage.

@Ang3113 I felt the same. Bump wasn’t too prominent either so I didn’t look pregnant really! It does change though. Enjoy it while it lasts 😊

sel2223 · 11/04/2020 08:50

I'm 22+2 and still nothing.
I have the occasional feeling like gas which I've read could be baby movements but, honestly, it's so faint, its impossible to tell.
I'm not so much worried as I know baby is ok and i saw her moving around lot at the 20 week scan, but I'm very impatient!

I'm 19 weeks too and haven't felt a thing, not even a bubble or a flutter! But I do have an anterior placenta according to my notes. I was so freaked out about the idea of feeling it earlier in my pregnancy but now I'm desperate for a tiny movement just so I know all is well in there! 20 week scan is next week so hopefully that will be reassuring. Sad that I might not feel anything for a few more weeks because of my placenta location!

Aly92 · 11/04/2020 10:29

I wouldn’t worry I was twenty something weeks when i first felt her. Be patient and don’t worry . Easier said than done I know lol

DJBebe · 11/04/2020 23:28

Hi ladies . When did you find out you had an anterior placenta? NHS didn't mention anything about placenta at my 12 week scan.

MooseBreath · 11/04/2020 23:31

I was nearly 24 weeks before I felt anything! Don't worry, it'll happen.

sel2223 · 11/04/2020 23:42

@DJBebe 20 week scan

DJBebe · 12/04/2020 07:55

Thank you @sel2223. I had a private scan at 12 weeks as well and they mentioned anterior placenta but NHS didn't mention anything. Was starting to wonder why.

Sunflower2019 · 12/04/2020 08:23

Honestly totally normal, with my first I couldn’t feel much until after my 20 weeks scan, this time it’s been so early, only strong kicks the last week or so, I’m 18 weeks tomorrow. It can also depend where your placenta is and the position etc. If you’re concerned talk to the midwife but I’m sure all is fine :) you’ll know when the kicks come in and then they’ll be waking you up in the night xxx

LH1987 · 12/04/2020 10:02

Hi, I have a posterior placenta and didn't feel anything (anything at all!) until 21+5. At my 20 week scan, I could see her aim a kick directly at the front of my tummy and still felt nothing. No need to worry!

Ang3113 · 12/04/2020 14:59

Thank you all so much. I have my 20 week scan Friday, so I shall try to relax.
