Transverse lying baby 28 weeks

I went for my 28 week growth scan earlier in the week. All was well, healthy size and weight but my little boy is lying Transversely.
He has been like this since at least 24 weeks, I have noticed looking back in my notes that the midwife wrote this.
I didn't realise the relevance until I googled it and that it could make natural delivery impossible and also complications with potential cord prolapse should I go into labour with the baby still in this position.
Has anybody any experience of this? Did your baby move position after 28 weeks? Any success stories of the baby being successfully moved by an obstetrician before due date?
Also any idea on how I can encourage my baby to move of his own accord.
Desperate to avoid a C section...

28 weeks is early. There is still plenty of time for your baby to turn as s/he grows.
One of mine was breech at 34 weeks and still turned head down before 36 weeks.

Sorry, just realised I should have said "he".

My dc2 was transverse till 38 weeks, she then decided to wriggle round, it was damn uncomfy for 30 mins whilst she was mid manoeuvre, she also weighed 10.9lbs when she was delivered by elective section 3 days later.....

Yeah and they can change day to day. I needed a growth scan at 28 weeks and baby went from head down to transverse within 24 hours. Was back to head down again a few days later!

Mine was firmly transverse at my 28 week scan. Didn’t do anything about it. Just had my 36 week and he’s moved.

DD was in a vastly different position at every midwife appointment I went to. Transverse, oblique, breech. You name it, she did them all. I think the first time she was properly head down was at 36 weeks.

Don't worry @MrsGEW. He's got loads of time to move.

Thanks everyone, that's all very reassuring!
I should just stop googling stuff 😂 x

My baby was transverse and had to come out at 37 weeks (unrelated complication of GD). They kept me in hospital when they found she was transverse but the risk of cord prolapse is very low. I had an elective c section which was difficult but she’s 3 weeks old and doing really well. Your baby has plenty of time move but even if he doesn’t please be reassured that they will look after you like they have done with me and my baby :)

My baby was oblique until 37 weeks when they turned head down, born naturally a week and a half later. I used the exercises from spinning babies, swims followed by long walks and chiropractor (they make adjustments that are supposed to open up your pelvis so baby can move down). I don't think you need to worry just yet but you could look at spinning babies as you can start those exercises to encourage baby to go head down from about 30 weeks.

Mine was transverse until about 37 weeks when she suddenly squirmed herself head down and I had a non-instrumental delivery at 40 weeks. I did a fair number of exercises learnt at NCT (circling hips mainly) but the doctor said that lots of babies just turn when they are ready...

At my 28 weeks scan which was 2 weeks ago I was told my baby is laying transverse last doing my scan did say it's still early for baby but I'm now 30 weeks and I can tell he still laying across me just from his movement but I'm not stressing as there is plenty of time for him to turn
