When will partner be called?

When will my partner be called to hospital?

I've read on my hospital website that birth partners will be called when labour is happening and then asked to leave once I move to the postnatal ward.

I just wanted to know exactly when he'll be called. Is it when I'm 4 cm dilated (at which point I love to the labour ward) or when I'm fully dilated?

Thanks x

I assume you are being inducted? As otherwise just stay at home till properly in labour then he can come with you.

No not being induced, but as soon as my waters break I have to go straight in due to group b strep. Need antibiotics

@mummy412
I had my daughter last week they allowed my husband in as soon as they had confirmed I was in labour and had admitted me to delivery suite so he only had to wait in the car for about 30 mins.

I also had group b strep and had to have antibiotics but my waters didnt break till about 10 mins before baby was born so I wouldn't worry too much about them breaking before you're in established labour.

my hospital are saying partners can come when you're in established labour i.e. 4cm dilated with strong and regular contractions

Only a small percentage of labours (I think about 5%) start with waters breaking so chances are you’ll be in active labour when you get to hospital anyway. Mine didn’t break until I was 8-10cm!

My waters didn't break until I was ready to push my kids out.
