Pelvic girdle pain - advice

Hi all,

27 weeks with second pregnancy and experiencing pelvic girdle pain. Didn't know what it was for a while and kind of ignored it but it's getting worse. Obviously with current climate I'm finding it tricky to find a physio or something to go to. Have ordered a support belt off Amazon but if anyone has had before please could you let me know what worked? And did it go away after birth?

Thanks in advance! X

Mine went away each time after birth. Keep legs together! If going in car put a carrier bag on seat. Keep legs riveter and swivel in, hence slippy bag helps.put a pillow between legs to sleep on your side.

Look online for reputable physio videos and do the exercises religiously. It might not cure it but it should help.

Also keep your knees close together, don't allow them to move apart, so no cycling/walking with a long stride etc. A pillow between your knees at night keeps your knees in alignment with your hips.

Helpful info and advice here

Honestly the most helpful thing for me (throughout first pregnancy and so far in second pregnancy) has been seeing an osteopath who was highly recommended by several people, lots of experience of treating pregnant women.

I've also seen physios and they give you exercises to do which help a bit but the manual therapy by the osteopath actually gives me significant relief.

Not sure if you'd be able to find someone who is still doing F2F appointments but it would be worth asking around and getting an appointment when you can.

Second previous answer - keep legs together and swivel. Particularly turning over in bed
