Maternity Leave

Hi, just after some clarification....

I started my leave on 1/2/2020 & I had agreed it would end on 31/8/2020 with my holiday owing tagged on the end. This was the message from my employer at the time.

"you will receive 6 weeks pay at (90% of salary) and £148.68maternity pay for 33 weeks thereafter or until you return to work .

However maternity pay will go over into 2020-2021 tax year so the 33 week amount may go up slightly.

You will need to give me a copy of your MATB1 form.

Holidays and bank holidays are paid during the maternity leave period at the standard rate of pay - so during the period requested for maternity leave this would equate to 5 bank holidays and 10 days holiday -= 15 days , so your return date to work would be 22 September 2020 if you were to take the holidays at the end of your maternity pay"

So I was due to go back on 22/9/2020. I would now like to extend my leave due to the current situation but I'm not 100% sure what I'm entitled to.

We get 39 weeks paid. Am I right in thinking that as I finished on 31/1 that this would take me up to 24/10?

Could anybody here then work out the holiday on top that I would've earned? I get 20 days per year. They run from 1/1 to 31/12 but we have to leave 3 free for Xmas shutdown. I get all the bank holidays so will have been on leave during Easter, all May ones & August.

So I can then work out exactly when I'd be looking at going back. Sometime in Nov by the looks of it??

I can't contact my boss to ask this atm as we're a small company & she doesn't have the answers. She has to go to an external source for clarification.

Thank you

Yes, I think that's correct.

Then you can add your holidays minus the three days you need to save for Xmas, unless you want to leave a few spare days for medical appointments just in case (vaccinations for the baby, checkups, etc).

You do need to let your employer know in advance when you're coming back, for me it's 8 weeks notice, so you will have an opportunity to ask when things hopefully will get back to more normal in June/July/August.
