I am having trouble getting any pads ready for birth next month and wondered where everyone for theirs or what they plan to use?

Have you tried ebay or Amazon?

If you don't find any, I would recommend cotton wool pleat from pharmacy over normal sanitary towels. I used it for veeery heavy periods for years when even the most absorbent pads had to be changed hourly, and it does a fab job.

I haven’t been able to get any in supermarket shops, and my household is self isolating until the birth so I’m not exploring further at this stage. Fortunately I already have enough for a week or so and hopefully I will then be able to get hold of some more.

I managed to get some from Superdrug last week! I was in the same predicament!

Boots had some in store if you can get out to a shop.

I am due in a few weeks and got mine off Amazon. Came the next day.

I couldn't wear actual maternity pads as they were so uncomfortable and rubbed my stitches!

I wore tena ladies instead (Aldi's)...so comfortable, same sort of price, and they worked just as well, and thankfully they didn't aggravate my episiotomy stitches like the maternity pads did.

If you can't get mat ones, give these a try

Order online from boots, I only used actual maternity ones for a couple of days before swapping to always infinity pads, they are so soft, hold loads and much comfier to wear

excitednerves · 15/04/2020 20:40

I used the tena lady pants last time. So good!

Maternity pads are pretty much just fat cotton wool old-tech sanitary towels.

In terms of comfort, some people like the thickness, in which case a night time maxi towel will work as an alternative.

If you're not worried about thickness and just want absorbency, then a night time ultra towel should work.

Perhaps not perfect and might cost a tad more, but an option if you still can't get the maternity towels.

I literally ordered some today from incontinencechoice.co.uk and they were like £2.49 for a pack of 14 and free delivery. Reviews on them seem to be good too! Hope this helps
