I'm 39 weeks pregnant today - yay! Which means exactly 1 week until due date Grin

My due date based off LMP was 20/04/20 but dating scan changed due date to 16/04/20 so not sure if this will affect anything.

I've been having a few twinges here and there, but nothing significant at all and I believe those twinges are me reading into every single little thing 😂

I'd love if baby came early (in the next 7 days) but all I hear about is how first babies are always late, is this true?
Was your first early/late or due date?

Pinkblueberry · 09/04/2020 12:00

First labours are supposed to be really long to but mine was 5 hours.

FTMF30 · 09/04/2020 12:00

I was 1 week early. But i was very active, whi h may have had something to do with it.

Hatepickinganame · 09/04/2020 12:01

My first was a week early. 2nd 10 days late and 3rd 5 days late (but induced due to his size, 10lb 6oz! And polyhydramnios) they pretty much just come when they're ready 😊

Marmite27 · 09/04/2020 12:02

2 weeks early. 4 hours active labour.

RuthW · 09/04/2020 12:04

kittykat7210 · 09/04/2020 12:05

Out of my 8 closest friends, 5 of us had our first babies before our due dates and only 3 had their first after their due date. Not sure why so many of us were early but I’m hopping my second decides to arrive early later in the year too.

Greendin · 09/04/2020 12:11

Had my first at 39+5 and my second at 39w.

Scubalubs87 · 09/04/2020 12:13

I was 39+3 when I delivered with labour starting the day before. Hopefully things get started for you soon OP

MrsCl19 · 09/04/2020 12:21

Winterpanda · 09/04/2020 12:27

Started labour on my due date but it lasted for 3 days.....! 2nd was induced and only 5hrs.

MaidenMotherCrone · 09/04/2020 12:27

My first was born on his due date.

Thesearmsofmine · 09/04/2020 12:28

I went into labour on my due date with ds1 he was born 2 days later.

MichelleOR84 · 09/04/2020 12:51

My waters broke at 37+1 weeks . Everyone in my family went 1-2 weeks past their due dates so I felt pretty confident I would too . I was literally in disbelief when my baby came early .

In my NHS birthing class we were told first time mums go 10 days past their due date as an average 🤷‍♀️ I’m not sure where that days is from !

Lilice · 09/04/2020 17:04

My first was 3 weeks early and second 1 week early

becca3210 · 09/04/2020 17:24

Being induced tomorrow for me first - two weeks late. Really does seem to vary! Hope you aren't waiting long.

StarsOnAMat · 09/04/2020 17:39

First was due date. Second a week early.

Historyofeverything1 · 09/04/2020 17:43

2 days early.
My mum had me 3 weeks early.
My dsis was 2 weeks late and had to be induced.

mumof1babe · 09/04/2020 23:31

My first was 2 weeks early and in labour for 6 hours. Xx

pinkrocker · 09/04/2020 23:35

DD was 17 days late, despite plenty of sweeps, curry and pineapple, induced and turned out to be 10lb 10!
DS was 5 days early, planned C-section and 9lb 13 (don't like to think how big he'd have been 17 days late)

EugenesAxe · 09/04/2020 23:45

Mine came 40+6; my sisters were about +9 and +6.

The statistics say that first babies have a 15% chance of being later than 40 weeks, compared to 10% for other babies, so there is a skew, but it’s still only 15%! Stats also say 1st babies are more likely to be pre-term, ie. before 37 weeks... but you’re out of that zone now at least 😁
