12wk scan worried about hospital

12wk scan next week, I’m getting really concerned about getting the covid 19 virus. I’ve been completely self isolating with my family, now the only place I have to go is the most risky there is, to the hospital for my scan. I know it’s important to check everything is ok, but what if I get it and get ill. I’m usually fit and healthy so no other health issues to worry about, but just worrying myself by hearing of all these young healthy people dying. Should I delay scan until maybe less risk? How do I stay safe in the hospital?

The scan is vital, do not miss it. You’ll likely be in a very different part of the hospital to anyone with CV and things are being kept very clean, you really don’t need to worry.

I had my 20 week anomaly scan recently and the hospital was so so quiet - loads of parking spaces, hardly any people about and plenty of hand sanitizer wherever i went.
The antenatal clinic was very quiet and chilled too. All women were on their own and sat apart in the waiting room. I didn't feel worried or anxious once I was there. The staff were doing everything they could to keep everyone safe and put everyone at ease.

I have mine tomorrow at 1pm and feeling the exact same, avoided going out all together but I know this is one outing that I must do.

Going to change my clothes and shower as soon I’m back home and hand sanitise/anti bac spray myself before getting in the car etc.

As others have said I’ve heard antenatal is deserted at most hospitals,so we shouldn’t come in to contact with too many people. Good luck xxx

You'll be fine. Use your intelligence about hand washing, etc. But this scan is important. Get a sense of perspective about your risks if catching Covid- they're low, given the other precautions you're taking.
