Week 21 of pregnancy and I’ve lost my appetite and keep having migraines.
I crave fresh bread and that’s it.
Any ideas?

That’s me, but I crave fruit (pears mainly) I’m now 33 weeks. Can’t help much unfortunately, I’ve only gained 3lbs the whole pregnancy. Midwife says not to worry as baby will get what they need it just leaves me with no energy!

I’m sorry I’m zero help but I just thought you’d like to know you’re not alone xx

Oh and paracetamol helps slightly with the migraines, not loads but enough to just take the edge off the searing pain!

@kittykat7210 thank you for getting back to me, I’m glad to know it isn’t just me. This whole lockdown things really not good for me mentally either

Nope, it’s not good for me. I’m having occasional panic attacks due to stress/strain/worry and all my midwife appointments are now telephone appointments, but the last appointment said baby was breech, As aware I am that baby can turn whenever and still has time, it’s more than worrying that I’m not being checked so I might go into labour with a breech baby.

I had two HGpregnancies and had to stop my migraine medication during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Things that helped with not fancying eating:
Fizzy drinks especially fizzy water
Very cold drinks with lots of ice, add fruit juice for the sugar and vitamins
Rich tea and malted milk biscuits
Tiger bread and butter
Potatoes in their various forms

Haribo
Ice cream and rocket lollies in particular

You need calories and sugar is the most efficient way of getting more calories from less food.

Things that helped with the migraines:
Prevention is best so things like eating and drinking regularly, staying hydrated, taking sickness medications if that's relevant to you, avoiding extra stress where possible (like I took the odd day off work if I wasn't coping, you obviously can't avoid all stress), avoiding screens where possible, regular fresh air and exercise
Take anti sickness tablet with paracetamol if the migraine makes you throw up
Sugar, salt and caffeine when the migraine hits - my go to was McDonald's chips, McFlurry and Diet Coke but not everyone gets on with Diet Coke
Cold on forehead - I always keep an ice pack in the freezer ready. You can also get menthol strips from boots when ice is impractical.
Hot pack on the base of the neck like a hot water bottle to relax tense muscles
Hot bath, with essential oils if that relaxes you. I used lavender when I was pregnant which my midwife ok'd but definitely check.
Obviously going to bed to sleep it off is the main one.

I hope you feel better soon x

@Hollywhiskey it’s so interesting that it’s tiger bread for you too!
