4th pregnancy no sickness - should I be worried ?

Hi,

I'm currently 7 weeks in to my 4th pregnancy. My last one ended at 10 weeks, but in each one I have felt progressively worse, with all day nausea starting around 5/6 weeks until about 16 weeks.

This time I feel completely fine. Very slightly tender boobs but that's it. I'm 39. I'm so worried this is a bad sign. Has anyone experienced really bad nausea/sickness with their first or more pregnancy, then nothing for the next?

Hi I've had the opposite! I have 13, 11 and 6 y/o children who I never felt sick with at all! This baby I've only just stopped feeling constantly sick and I'm 15 weeks tomorrow. I'm 36. Try not to worry, maybe it's taking a while for the hormones to build up 🙂 I know health professionals don't like it but I bought a Doppler and found baby's hb at home at 9 weeks...I KNOW not everyone will be able to and my placenta is anterior so I'm amazed I heard it that early! The hb has got progressively louder and has reassured me no end! When I can feel baby I won't need it but until then it's offering me peace of mind as my MW appts have all been cancelled x

I felt nauseous for 3 months with my DD has no symptoms at all with my son. Both of them are now healthy adults. Each pregnancy is different. Try not to worry. Good luck.

Thank you both for your replies. It's just so unusual for me to be nausea free, I just can't believe everything could be ok 😔

I’ve been pregnant eight times in total, some successful and some not. I had no symptoms with one of my pregnancies that resulted in missed miscarriage but equally had no symptoms with my DD’s who were both absolutely healthy. Had every symptom going with another pregnancy that ended in a missed miscarriage so I guess it can go either way.

Not me, but my best friend has had horrendous non-stop sickness for most of pregnancies 1,2 and 4, and absolutely none for pregnancy 3. She didn’t even know she was pregnant for about 10 weeks as had no symptoms. Completely healthy pregnancies all of them. Bodies seem to make it up as they go along.

I had no real symptoms, no nausea, no nothing with my first 3 pregnancies (all 3 were boys).

With my 4th pregnancy (and only DD) I was sick every single day from roughly 1 week post conception, before I even knew I was pregnant, up to & including the day she was born.

NameChange30 · 08/04/2020 21:45

Were your previous pregnancies girls or boys or a mix?

I barely got any nausea with DS. Pregnant again with a girl and the nausea was much worse (just in the first trimester, luckily it has eased now).

Whybirdwhy · 08/04/2020 21:55

I had a lot of nausea in first pregnancy, slightly less in second and none at all in third. All fine.

ManchNic · 08/04/2020 23:26

@NameChange30 a girl then a boy, then a boy that we lost at 10 weeks, so no gender bias. But I have heard a lot of people say they were less sick with boys.
Seemed like it got worse with each pregnancy for me so far, but nice to hear it can go the other way too @Whybirdwhy.

I'm pregnant with my fourth baby and my morning sickness has got less each time. Each pregnancy is different, hopefully you're one of the lucky ones with a sickness-free pregnancy this time!

Thank you @Crazymummyto3 😊

I had horrendous nausea with one. I lost so much weight and spent a lot of time just aimlessly walking around the house crying and feeling very sorry for myself!

With the second, I had no nausea at all and felt great. I gained a shit load of work because I took the 'eating for two' thing a bit literally!

Both were healthy boys!

Best of luck!

PrimeraVez · 09/04/2020 08:24

work?! weight!

ManchNic · 09/04/2020 08:57

Thanks @primeraVez 😊
