Pregnancy insomnia during isolation

Hi all,

I’m 28 weeks pregnant and really starting to struggle with insomnia. I feel dead tired during the day and ready to go to bed each night then I’ll lie wide awake for hours. If I do get to sleep chances are I’ll wake up for a wee after about an hour, then every hour till the morning. Or I’ll be woken up by discomfort or restless arms/legs. I’m trying to make sure I’m wearing myself out enough during the day but I know I’m not as physically tired as after a day at work. I’m also trying not to nap as I know that’s not helpful.

Don’t know whether it’s a normal pregnancy thing or made worse by being kept at home all the time - anyone else in the same boat? It’s driving me a bit mad...

Was normal for me throughout pregnancy.

Now have a two week old baby and can’t sleep for different reasons!

Be kind to yourself and nap when you can.

Hi there

I’m also suffering at 17 weeks, it’s 5:20am, I’ve been awake since 12:30am and currently listening to the birds singing. I know I’ll either fall asleep soon and wake exhausted at 7am for work or this is it 😴 will let you know if I find anything that helps but understand how you’re feeling ☺️X

24 weeks and also not sleeping😫
Put myself to bed at 9pm, still awake and struggling at 4.09am.
Nothing seems to be working 😫

33 weeks and no problem going to sleep.... 3am rolls round and boom wide awake as if I've slept for days. Maybe will fall back to sleep for half an hour around 5:30. This is the same no matter what time I go to sleep. I'm just accepting it's my body's way of preparing for sleepless nights when the baby comes

Hey, I'm 34 weeks and same, no problem going to sleep but I'd say I wake every hour, either as my hips hurt (even though I have a great pregnancy pillow) and trying to turn over with a big bump is hard and disturbing! Then the next hour I'll be up to pee :) I think it's just part and parcel and lots have said it's preparing you for sleepless nights/night feeds so when bubba is here it's not so much of a shock. If you can try and top up your sleep with a little nap in the day, I don't think that will be bad for you - you're getting broken sleep anyway so to at least get a bit more in a 24hr period can't be too bad

36 weeks here and I know I'll sleep better once the baby is here. I dtd with my last 2 babies anyway!

Sorry to hear you’re all suffering too but it’s a little bit reassuring it’s not just me...

I guess it’s a way of getting used to disturbed nights but it would be nice just to wake up feeling I’ve had a proper sleep once in a while!

I’ve given in a few times on naps and it hasn’t made much difference so think I might as well keep doing that and listen to my body, any sleep is better than no sleep right??

Hello, I'm 27 weeks and I've been having the same problem. I put myself to bed at 8pm and I seem to drop off, but then when my partner gets in to bed later on it wakes me and then I'm awake for most of the night. Every little noise keeps me awake, my hips hurt, i have heart burn and my mind is racing with thoughts. Gah!
