Hey guys hope your all staying safe and inside

Sooo basically I can't find any advice that helps so I thought I'd give here a try here I'm 22weeks pregnant and needing to move house (current house I live in is overcrowded and in despair really not suitable for a baby) I'm currently on universal credit as I can't work right now while self isolating so I put a claim in to get me something while I'm not at work and then the next step was to get on property pool which I did an I've come to find I'm entitled to one bed flat which I'm so so grateful for don't get me wrong but to me it also makes no sense does that mean I'll have to move again with a new born when she's here? Or will I have to share a room with her until I physically can't no more? Did any of you do this and if so how was it? My main question though is can I just rent private with a landlord that accepts UC/DSS I get 250 a month which wouldn't even cover the rent though so can you get any help with rent when you go private? I'm just looking for options as I'm really starting to stress about money and housing

Thankyou all in advance x

No advice on the rental side but safest place for baby for first six months is in the same room as you anyway. A lot of people go up to a year though x

Have a look on Shelter’s website, they seem to have pretty good and clear advice about this. I can’t comment on your personal situation but it does seem like the limit is still capped and you wouldn’t get enough to cover a 2 bed.
As the pp said though, you’re going to have the baby in with you for easily 6 months to a year anyway, so I’d say you’re better off taking the flat and then go from there. As soon as it’s not suitable for you, they’d have to offer you something else.
