Anything I can take to help me sleep?

Hi, I'm sleeping terribly at the moment which is making me struggle to find any motivation or energy during the day.
Is there anything pregnant women can take to help with sleep? I'm 23+4. I have some Nytol Herbal but on the back it says do not take if you're pregnant Sad I don't know what in there would be harmful but obviously that's no good.

It's starting to lower my mood now!

Speaking to your local pharmacist would probably be your best bet.

It might also be worth looking at good sleep hygiene advice if you haven't already. There are also some good white noise apps which can help too.

Download Paul Mckenna's I can help you sleep app.
I was sceptical but found I was asleep with 5 minutes.

Please talk to your pharmacist, as what I’m about to advise may not be suitable for pregnant women. BUT I have had insomnia for 18 years, took sleeping pills just so I could get a couple of hours rest, then my pharmacist recommended magnesium spray. I thought he was being ridiculous, but gave it a try anyway. Amazing stuff, and natural. I still wake up in the night, but I fall back asleep pretty quickly. He recommended spraying it on my calves, the sheets get a bit icky, but nothing a good wash can’t sort.

I’m self isolating so avoiding chemists. But I’ll ask my boyfriend to, thanks. And will definitely look into the app and spray 😃

I've had insomnia off and on throughout my pregnancy (currently 37 weeks) so I feel your pain! Unfortunately I don't think it's uncommon.

I didn't find any tablets or anything that could be taken in pregnancy but the things that have helped me:

good sleep hygiene,
a pregnancy pillow between my knees,
making sure to get out the house for a walk in the sunshine everyday, trying to keep a routine
generally focusing on reducing my anxiety

I used lavender essential oils on my pillow. Still works a treat!

The Headspace app pregnancy programme was a god send for me
