Looking for some friendly advice, I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant and already had an early pregnancy scan due to having pain in my lower back. All is okay, baby's is healthy and in the right place. Which rules out Eptomic pregnancy. They did query a twin pregnancy as my parter is a 4th generation of twins but we could only see one baby on screen. For the last 9 days now I'm unable to keep any sort of food or drinks down, or even keep pregnacare or cyclizine which is what I've been prescribed - so I'm a little concerned on what vitamins the baby will be getting from me if I'm not able to get any myself? I don't know if it's worth getting in contact with my GP again perhaps?

Anyone able to give me some advice please, will appreciate anything!

P.S - it's goes all day the sickness does and ginger biscuits don't work for me 🥱

Ring your GP lovely and ask for advice. Maybe try a different type of anti emetic.
I'm in the same boat as you. I'm 6 weeks and can't shift the nausea. I'm not eating much. I'm waiting for a call back from my GP today.

I've been ringing all morning. I'm on a triage wait with my GP now and I've waiting on midwifes to listen to my voicemail and ring me back. I've been in A&E once which was a week today and they gave me 1000mg of saline and anti sickness through a cannula. I literally can't keep nothing down the longest I've managed is 3 hours and as the days pass. I can't manage to keep it in for more than 2 and a bit. Absolute nightmare

This is my second pregnancy, On my previous one I've had miscarriage at 12 weeks + 5 days. Was never sick or anything. But was bleeding. Now it's complete opposite which is a good sign but I can't help but worry every time because I don't know anyone who's been this bad x

Definitely speak to gp again get prescribed something different. I tried cyclizine and one other which initially worked but after a few days I was back to being sick. Ondasetron was the only one that worked for me.

I was unfortunately sick until 20 weeks but just try and sip water if you can for now

Been awake since 8:30 been sick 17 times to having hiccups afterwards too, if I got this TIL 20 weeks then someone pray for me 🙃🙌🏼

Hello OP!
Hopefully I can provide a bit of advice and reassurance here, I suffered with severe hyperemesis from 5 weeks onwards and was in hospital for 6 months straight.

Firstly, don't worry about vitamins etc. Babies are little parasites and will take what they need from you (even the nutrients inside your bones with go to them) so make sure vitamins are the least of your worries. Don't even bother with them if they make you sick

Secondly, cyclizine is notoriously crap and actually doing anything to help sickness. The only reason the doctors give it to you first is because it is the cheapest anti sickness drug you can get on the NHS. Works for a few, but for a majority it really is no good.

There are multiple other anti sickness drugs- metoclopromide, phenergan, and the God of anti sickness is ondansetron.

However, you make find if your sickness is very severe (like mine was) that taking these in either tablet or liquid form had absolutely no effect, or you just sick them back up. So somethings metoclopromide works well as an injection- doesn't necessarily stop the sickness well, but it does make you sleep so you get to kip for a few hours.

Phenergen also knocks you out.

Ondansetron is brilliant through an IV drip.

You may find, as I did, you need all of these drugs in combination to get a good benefit.

Some doctors are careful about which drugs they prescribe as previously there have been some inaccurate testing that said they harm the baby- please be reassured that present testing and studies have shown they cause no harm.

Please go to hospital if over the course of 24
Hours you haven't kept anything down to hydrate you- the hospital won't necessarily be concerned you haven't eaten, but dehydration is a concern.

You may find a drip of fluids gets you up and going again.

Do not be afraid of going into hospital daily to get a drip.

And do not be fobbed off by anyone who says it is morning sickness.

You may have to put your foot down to be treated properly.

I hope that helps but any questions please ask!

@Pentium85 I'm currently sat in A&E as the ward that has the early pregnancy unit on doesn't have the facilities to accommodate me.

My midwife isn't amused at all and is rather pissed off at the moment.

I've gone to be sick plenty of times now and I've been here since 12:15pm and was last seen at 12:35pm. Yet I am still waiting now to be called back in. My blood pressure was 99 above 66 and they haven't said anymore to me other than the to take a seat in the waiting room.

I'm starting to get fed up now. Especially when no one else has come in for the last 90 minutes and everyone has been treated and left.

Yes, until you're 12 weeks you won't be admitted into a pregnancy ward, you'll just be on a normal ward, unless it is a very large hospital.

You really do have to push to be seen. They often won't take it seriously
