A regular long distance runner hoping to complete a marathon at 32 weeks pregnant?
No focus on time.
Crazy or possible?

I think crazy but some pregnant women really do achieve amazing things!

Crazy.

Crazy but you’d probably get more useful advice on a runners forum!

I think it’s possible under medical supervision. I ran late into my pregnancies ( but probably not that late). Dehydration and overheating are dangerous. If you are a regular long distance runner are you sure you can drop the competitive side of you for the marathon? Not easy. Would you be truly happy to finish it, even if it meant completing it in 5 or 6 hours?? Are you sure you will be able to just go with the flow on the day? E.g pulling out at say mile 18.... can you trust yourself to do that? If you can, then why not sign up? Even if you feel great, you won’t know for sure until the day if you can manage part or all of it. Good luck if you decide to do it! And if you don’t, there are plenty of other marathons.

It can absolutely be done if you're a regular runner already and obviously just check in with your doctor for any risk factors. If you have a google, there are loads of articles of people training and running while pregnant.
I'm intending to keep training whilst pregnant: I run and walk long distance events (was supposed to be doing a 50 mile walk over 2 days in a couple of weeks but it was sacrificed to Corona) - I don't think we need to wrap ourselves in cotton wool so long as we are following proper medical advice :-)
That said I think I probably won't do the rescheduled Manchester marathon at 33 weeks but I haven't completely ruled it out ;-)

Possible, but I'd say only on the basis that you are in marathon trim at the beginning of your pregnancy and maintain that, and with a low threshold for pulling the plug, since pregnancy is not the time to scale up training. Also an eye on your pelvic floor and a willingness to listen closely to your body.

I had to stop street running at about 29 weeks as it just started to feel really weird and bad, although I kept exercising right up to birth.
