Anyone with PCOS and pregnant? I'm experiencing pain that's worrying me

Hi I am about 6 weeks. At the beginning I had what felt like growing pains but me and DH have been having sex quite often (sorry TMI) because my sex drive seems to be going crazy. I do notice slight pain after sex is this normal?

However, what's worrying me is last night after sex I was in quite substantial pain that I felt pulls and twinges every time I moved and now I have a dull pain on the left side of my ovary/groin. It's not as severe as the pain I used to have when they were cysts. Me and DH have decided to take it easy on the sex and stop for a while.

I've noticed a lot of pain on both my legs and lower back as well. I don't want to lose the baby :( I'm so worried. I'm afraid of ectopic pregnancy too but sometimes I feel the pain on the left and sometimes on the right. I haven't had any bleeding or shoulder tip pain.

Waiting to speak to my gp later today as I still haven't informed them I'm pregnant because of this whole covid19 situation.

Hi - I don’t have PCOS but just wanted to comment that I am now on my second pregnancy, but clearly remember that during the early weeks of my first I was surprised how much pain it caused in my abdomen, vagina and lower back.

At the time I was being investigated for endometriosis and the midwives speculated that as any lesions/scar tissue are disturbed as the uterus grows, it could cause extra pain. For me, this type of pain largely started to ease by the end of the first trimester.

In my current pregnancy, the pain isn’t so bad but I wonder if that’s because I’m expecting it this time. I also had an early private scan at 7 weeks and they checked my ovaries for cysts etc, I have 1 tiny one but otherwise all fine

Perhaps an early scan would be worthwhile to ease your mind?

Undoubtedly your cervix/uterus is more sensitive at this stage, it’s still low down too, so I would also not be surprised if sex upset the area a bit too.

@Gerdticker thank you so much for replying. Spoke to the GP today and she said that it's normal because the whole environment down there is changing and as long as the pain is manageable its nothing to worry about. I feel a lot better now that I've had breakfast as well.

PCOS sufferer here, 26 weeks pregnant. I was genuinely very surprised by how painful early pregnancy was - pulls, cramps, aches, stabs, all of it. I found most of these eased by week8/9 to make room for round ligament pain and morning sickness.
So on my experience all those pains are normal 😊

@Wanderer1 thank you that reassures me. I need to just try and enjoy as much of it as I can but can't help but overthink things x

Every pregnancy starts with a cyst on the ovary from which you ovulated. It keeps the pregnancy going until the placenta takes over. So that might be (part of) what you can feel.
I don’t have PCOS but like PP remember a lot of twinges and pains in early pregnancy.
