Can anyone read a CTG?

Was in triage yesterday at 36weeks due to community midwife noticing babies fast heartbeat.

While I was on the CTG I was having tightenings, not painful a such but very noticeable and they start at the top of my bump and make their way down right in to my bottom like a wave.

Does anyone know if these are just Brixton hicks or a start of something?

I did ask the midwives but they were very vague as they were busy (which I understand and am not complaining about).

I can read a CTG but absolutely wouldn’t on an Internet forum without knowing the entire clinical history.

Anyone willing to interpret a photo of your CTG on mumsnet is not someone you should trust to interpret you CTG.

What @BabbleBee said. You can call triage/MAU and ask them to explain your notes from yesterday a bit more, and what follow up you need?

I see, thanks anyway. I'm back in tomorrow for a scan so I'll ask if someone there can explain it to me.

I’m sure if there was anything seriously wrong on the CTG they would’ve kept you in instead of sending you home again that day so you should take some comfort from that Smile

A CTG won’t tell the difference between Braxton-Hicks and early labour. If they are painless tightenings without any other signs then it’s most likely Braxton-Hicks.

Another one here who can interpret but wouldn't want to online. Contact your midwife if you have any concerns.
