Reduced strength of fetal movements.

Hi all, I'm 26w2d and since yesterday morning I feel movements which are less strong. I don't think they have decreased in number, it's just that they feel softer and more subdued. I even looked at my belly, which does visibly move when baby kicks - but internally I feel less.

Without covid I would go to the hospital - no point in wondering while I could be checked, but with covid it feels like the decision is more difficult. If I could not feel/see anything I would go, but this is the gray area and I'm struggling to decide.

Any suggestion please?

Get a check, talk to the hospita/midwife

I am exactly the same. 29 weeks and same reduced strength of movements. I went to the hospital last night on the advice of the midwife on the phone. I suggest you go as they did say it’s business as usual and better be checked out.

I had this around this time too, and my midwife told me it could be if baby was turned and kicking into my body/back if that makes sense? And then they feel stronger if baby is kicking towards the skin of your stomach

If you haven’t already done it.. have a cold drink of water, a sugary snack, then lie on your bed on your left hand side. Don’t have any music etc On and just concentrate on the movement and kicks. If you still think they have reduced call triage. Sending you love xx

26w is still a bit early, depending on your body baby's position- I only started feeling movements reguarly (and they are still not the same strength every day, depending which way the baby faces) after 30 weeks. 28 weeks is I believe when they say you need to expect a pattern. But by all means phone and get checked if you're worried!

Emailed the midwife and she said I should go in to get checked. She mentioned

"as you are over 26 weeks we can attach you to a constant fetal heart rate monitor and interpret the results"

No idea what that involves and what problems can highlight, but will go and see.

Thanks all for the advics
