Hi,

I just found out I was pregnant. I’ve been trying for about 4 months and was started to get down about it but amazed it’s happened.

Has anyone else just got the good news too? Smile

Congrats Pauline! Thanks for sharing your feelings and experience, it's such and exciting and nerve wracking time.

If you can't get through to your doctor, see if they have a website. I didn't call my practice because even at the best of times the lines are busy. Fortunately on the website there was self referral information, including one for a midwife

I called one of the numbers. A woman, probably a general receptionist, picked up and took my name, birth date, number, address. She also asked about my practice/doctor and when was my last menstrual period. She advised a midwife would call probably next week, and to go to a nearby health centre to pick up some informative booklets. Presumably a pack giving guidance on how to have a healthy pregnancy.

Best of luck to us all, stay strong and positive. It's a very beautiful thing that life can come even at such an unprecedented and scary time

Thanks everyone it's so reassuring and i'm sure my local midwifery team will be fab at providing care even in these times. I never looked at it like that, your right it will be easier having this down time and being in the comfort of my own home! I'm sure like everyone else I can't wait to see the other side of this and have some lovely news for our families once we are.

Congratulations all, there's a due date calculator on the nhs website Smile I found out I was 1-2 weeks last 12th April and was due 20th December!!

Congratulations to everyone! I've just found out too, think I'm due 4 December, this will be my second - eek!
been on hold to my GP for ages, I'm also a bit worried about appointments :/

Foreverbaffled · 02/04/2020 14:13

Congratulations everyone :)

My booking in appointment is the 21st March but will be by telephone which is a shame. I think though as this is my second I don’t mind too much.

21st April!!

Congratulations to you all. Exciting!

I'm 17 weeks with my second.
Gilljill - take a look at your GP's/ local hospital's website as they often have the facility to self-refer yourself for antenatal care.

I've done this both times and it's been really easy. My hospital then send out details of your booking appt (prob telephone based atm) along with an appt for your 12 week scan.

I'm under the care of the home birth team so my appts all take place at home. Goodness knows if home births will be happening when I'm due in September though.

Try and relax and enjoy it - especially if you're FTM as lockdown with a toddler is very different!!! 🙈🙈🙈
