Nursing bras during Corona

Hi, I'm due to have a baby soon and have been told to purchase some nursing bras around 35/36 weeks. I obviously can't go out at the moment to get measured professionally so I wondered if anyone has any tips for me to measure at home so I can order online? Many thanks x

Seraphine double pack bamboo bras come in S/M/L so the sizing isn't such a big deal and they are soooooo soft and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Thank you Bleepers x

H&M do some that are a bit like a bralett/crop top. They're really comfy and come in S/M/L.

KHall84 · 01/04/2020 16:33

I actually recently got mine on Amazon they have a great selection I was a bit apprehensive at first as I fairly big boobs but they offer great support and come with an extended if needed but I wouldbt x

Brenna24 · 01/04/2020 16:35

I love the crop top style ones. And they are S/M/L so easy to buy. I never wear the bra style ones unless I have run out of the crop top style

Tibtab · 01/04/2020 16:37

I like bravado nursing bras, they come in S/M/L/XL. I was originally measured at JoJo Maman but I’ve bought extra from Amazon. Think the sizes are on the website.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 01/04/2020 16:38

Try Figleaves too. I got mine from there.

I need proper bras - bralets and anything without wires is hopeless and painful, so I get the flexiwire Freya ones. I always measure at home using this method

NameChange30 · 01/04/2020 16:46

I advise you to measure at home using Boob or Bust and then order some soft, stretchy nursing bras that are more forgiving of fluctuations in size.

I have big boobs and my recommendation is the Sugar Candy nursing bra, it's surprisingly supportive and very comfortable. Lots of hooks on the back for getting the size right and the cups are stretchy.

The best online price I found was Poinsettia Style.

Personally I wouldn't get underwired (not even flexi wire) until I could get fitted in person at Bravissimo.

Spanneroo · 01/04/2020 16:47

Yes the Amazon ones are great. Cheap and they change with your boobs. A bit of padding to disguise the nipples too. I got these ones:

CLOUSPO Nursing Bra 2/4 Pack Women Seamless Maternity Bra Removable Paded Sleep Comfortable for Breastfeeding with Free Bra Extenders www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07NW944F4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_nElHEbW61W60P

Thanks so much all, that's super helpful. Really appreciate it 😘x

Definitely second the H&M ones... so comfy and actually give you some shape as well as support.

IvinghoeBeacon · 01/04/2020 17:31

I personally couldn’t hold on until whenever this lockdown ends (I am 38 weeks) as anything without wires really does not work for me, but I am confident in fitting bras for myself and I am currently breastfeeding my 22mo anyway

auntienameyname · 01/04/2020 17:32

I got mine from Asda online, they have little bits of lace on too, make you feel womanly again! No underwire and small amount of padding x

latheritup · 01/04/2020 17:34

Bravissimo do some great ones. I have the Panache & Freya. They offer a fitting service over the phone where they'll ask various questions. Not had any issues with the sizes recommended

NameChange30 · 01/04/2020 17:39

The Freya flexiwire nursing bra just didn't fit me well, I guess it depends on body/boob shape. I think the Panache Eleanor is similar, might try it this time around.

OP, in the very early days I found nursing vests very useful (worn without a bra and just with cardie over). However, check your size first. The H&M nursing vests I'd bought didn't have big enough cups and my boobs fell out! Hot Milk do a nursing camisole for an F-H cup which fitted me much better.

I've used online calculator and measured myself at home then ordered a sort basic bra from amazon that was a bit large on me but comfy enough.

I really like H&M soft crop top style ones but be warned they come up small. When my DD was young (and my boobs were always full haha) I needed a size large and I'm a C cup at best. I'm also only a size 12. Now that she's older and I don't feed as regularly my boobs have shrunk like deflated balloons got a bit smaller but I still need a medium despite only being an A/B cup. I do have a large ribcage though Grin

Also the H&M feeding vests are cheap but oddly sized - not very generous in the cup again but really quite large around the stomach. Never really fitted me right.

PippaPegg · 01/04/2020 22:46

Don't bother with bras unless your budget is 000s! Your size will change repeatedly and rapidly.

A couple of stretchy crop top things will do you.

I ebayed a set of hooks and eyes to make the back smaller as my ribs went down gradually after birth. I don't mean a bra extender I mean literally hooks and eyes, sewn on by hand.

If you find a crop top with removable pads you have 2 advantages. 1. The pads give shape. 2. You can put absorbent breast pads in the pocket rather than against your skin. Breast pads are like sandpaper on my nipples. Evil fucking things but neater than shoving a muslin down my top at every feed.

For the first few weeks you won't be wearing a bra of any kind trust me.. better to feed and be comfy and hang out at home not caring what you look like.

Nika19 · 06/04/2020 19:42

OP this was my exact question!

@Bleepers I was looking at the Seraphine bamboo ones. I have S size top from there, but a bit afraid that S size bra would be too small with my enlarged boobs... how do you find their cup sizes?Hmm

Viletta · 06/04/2020 22:21

@Bleepers did you get anything else from them? Their skin to skin top looks so nice but the price is a bit ouchy considering the amount of use.

I've just looked and h&m does home delivery, got a pair of maternity jeans

Bleepers · 07/04/2020 10:18

@nika19 I rang and asked them but obv you can't do that anymore. TBH you just want something comfortable so I'd go for a medium

Crackerscheesescabbyknees · 07/04/2020 10:20

Bras exist during Corona?
Shattered my illusions.

Bleepers · 07/04/2020 10:20

@viletta I thought exactly the same about the skin to skin top and didn't buy it for that reason. Did not regret it really. If you want to do skin on skin then just lie in bed naked 😂

BUT the best thing I bought were seraphine bamboo nursing pjs. They are so soft and comfy and crucially incredibly easy to breastfeed with. Honestly I cannot recommend these highly enough even though they are expensive! You will live in them.
