Do I need any medicines for newborn?

Are there any medicines that I should have in stock for a newborn baby? I'm guessing they'll be impossible to get now sadly, but it would be good to know if there's anything essential I should have so I can at least try...

They recommend calpol with some of the jabs. I think the youngest is 2 or 3 months plus, though.

Thanks! I looked at Calpol and I think it's for babies aged two months and over.

Thanks for the Infacol suggestion. I've just been able to order a bottle on Amazon - it's a miracle! It says it's suitable from birth.

You could also get one of the nasal suction devices to go with your saline nasal drops.

I second the vitamin d - essential if you are breastfeeding and it is also a good anti viral.

Colief is for lactose intolerance though so a completely different product.

Isn't snuffle babe a menthol type product? So not suitable for newborns.

I think snufdlebabe rub is only for 2/3 months up. Camphor products should be used with caution in infants

Calpol is fine for newborns. But should be prescribed as the dose is different, also if you need to use it then a tiny baby needs to be seen by a doctor. We use saline drops all the time for our cleft lip and palate babies. The sterimar spray is better than drops. (Peads nurse)
