Anyone had two c sections

I have recently found out we are expecting again. I have mixed emotions mainly happy but also very anxious as first labour was traumatic, it lasted nearly 27 hours then I was rushed for an emergency section. I am wondering how my second birth will be and if anyone has had two seconds and if the second recovery is harder then the first. Also if anyone has had a section then a natural birth after.

I have a section first, then twins naturally.

They said the risk of the scar splitting was 1% and recommended a section which I refused. Unless medically necessary and which paperwork was draw up beforehand so they could operate straight away.

Midwives were lovely.

Yes. Emergency like you first time and then elective the next time. In relative terms, the second one was a calm, gentle walk in the park. Recovery was much easier because there was much less hauling about and also no 24 hours of staying up beforehand and being weak /exhausted going into it. Good luck!

I had an emcs 2 years ago and a planned cs 6 weeks ago. The recovery this time round has been a bit longer but only because it's trickier properly resting when you have a young toddler, so I may have overdone it a bit.
I have awful memories about my first birth and the emcs, however the planned cs was completely different, so much more relaxed and in control, we went in at 7am that morning and baby was born by 9am

i had an absolutely horrendous delivery with my first child. I had a section with the second. It was just so wonderful to be able to enjoy my baby without all the trauma and extended recovery time i had first time. I recovered far more quickly and was much more able to cope.

I’m 4 weeks post my second; first was emergency and second was planned. They say the second can be more painful because you have scar tissue but I’ve found it much better potentially in part because I planned for it. The first 5 days were the worst but within 2 weeks I could pretty much do everything apart from lifting and stopped taking pain killers after 3 weeks. The main difficulty is not being able to lift my toddler but with my DHs paternity leave and help from mil the following week that has been fine too and I’d got her used to not being carried by me while pregnant.

I had EMCS after 18 hr labour due to DC having flexed back his head.

then a reluctant elective - DC was slightly overdue which unlike everyone else I found quite dreadful- and the recovery worse - drain/adhesions etc.

then a VBA2C, which was actually a breeze DC born 40 mins after getting to hospital, zero intervention

I think a lot depends on your reasons for EMCS - just luck? or something else going on?

Thanks everyone it's good to know some people can have a natural after a section. I'm worried about over doing it after because obviously if you have a section you can't do much until you recover and ds will only be 17 months at the time (close I know). I had to have the EMCS the first time because I was being induced took 5 tablets to even get to 1cm for them to break my waters and then the labour was long and I only got to 6cm and I ended up with suspected sepsis so they had to rush me in. The sepsis was confirmed after his birth and then we both had to stay in for a week after so I'm quite nervous.

I've had four sections. The recovery took a little longer for me and was a little more painful with each one, I think because they used metal staples instead of dissolvable for my last two births, but I was still back to normal within a few weeks.
