Just curious. I'm a long way off from buying anything yet but I'm tempted to buy a little something to make it feel more real Smile

When I was first pregnant, I waited until the 20 week scan to find out the sex and after the appointment I bought her a little pair of pink sparkly shoes. Second baby, I bought him booties that said "I love my sister". This time I havent bought anything yet.

As soon as I found out I was pregnant I got a cute little neutral outfit just because I wanted to. We then got the bedside crib at about 15 weeks and the travel system at 20 weeks. I’m 20 weeks now and that’s all we have so far although if I had my way we would have a lot more. DH is the sensible one lol

A little stripey bear- we happened to have a break booked in Berlin about 4 days after my positive tests. DS had taken 4 very long years to conceive and we had a little on going holiday hunt to find just the right little toy. I needed something tangible to hold because it was all so surreal.

I started looking at baby clothes online today and was also very tempted! I’m going to try to hold off until 12 weeks...

We live in a flat so we’re going to hold off on buying larger items until as late as possible for practical/storage reasons, but hasn’t stopped me looking!

I wish it was a cute outfit or a bear, but it was a pack of nappies and the pram! Grin

A cute Harry Potter babygrow the day after my 12 week scan to celebrate everything being ok 😂

sel2223 · 28/03/2020 20:04

I'm 20+2 and bought a travel system a week ago as I knew the shop would be shutting soon.
If it hasn't been for that, I probably wouldn't have bought anything till after I was 6 months.

schafernaker · 28/03/2020 20:50

A cute penguin teddy for DC1 and a monkey for DC2 😊

OccasionalNachos · 28/03/2020 20:53

A tiny vest, after I had the 12 week scan. Will probably keep it as there is a bloodstain that hasn’t quite washed out, from when the cord stump detached Grin

A green soft toy elephant

kitk · 28/03/2020 20:58

When she was a confirmed girl I bought a little pink hat. Unfort she inherited my massive head and it never fit!

Wolfgirrl · 28/03/2020 20:59

A pink babygrow set after the 12 week scan. Sonographer said it looked like a girl and I had a strong hunch... I was right! Also a cute neutral elephant picture for the nursery.

At about 36 weeks. I was still working full time in London. I bought 6 white baby grows, a pack of muslins, cotton wool balls and breast pads from Peter Jones. I bought some Huggies nappies in the supermarket a bit closer to the birth.

JuneBaby20 · 29/03/2020 17:13

The first thing was a pram because I happened to find a really good deal ! Quite scary but I actually bought it before I was 12 weeks... Hmm I had anxiety over it lol

Then didn’t but nothing at all until after my 20 week scan. I bought her a little dress and frilly socks. That was a very special moment 💖

GaaaaarlicBread · 29/03/2020 18:50

We’ve got a few outfits now for our little girl, I’m 18 weeks +1 . We’ve also got the Moses basket and travel system because they were in a bundle on sale from £999 to £280 so we didn’t want to miss it, and I’m glad we did as the day after it’s back full price ! We are getting the crib after the 20 week scan in 10 days but only because I would’ve been paid by then. Congrats btw xx

The first thing we bought was a 3-1 steriliser (also heats baby food). I'd just had my 20 week scan a few days before, and the Baby Show was on in Birmingham.

It was an impulse buy which, nearly 7 months down the line, we've used barely a scant handful of times. BF went well, DD refuses bottles and dummies (making those and the breast pump also pointless purchases), and we're doing baby led weaning and went straight onto finger food. So no jars of food to heat.

If you do want a steriliser, get a cold water one. So much easier.

A pack of beautiful babygros.
