Nursing bras - what size if we can’t get a fitting??

With all the high street shops closed it looks like getting measured/fitted for a nursing bra will be off the cards.
Anyone have any advice on what size to go for compared to pregnancy? I am up 2 cup and 2 clasp sizes atm and just into my third trimester

I don’t really have any advice re the sizings - sorry! Just a warning that if you find the ones that you get are a bit tight and uncomfortable don’t put up with it, get some new ones. I was measured for mine before I gave birth. In the end they were a bit tight and uncomfortable but I just got on with it. Ended up giving me really nasty mastitis, which if untreated can make you very unwell (including causing sepsis). Obviously with the NHS under so much stress this would be an even worse time than usual for that to happen to you. Just thought I’d mention it - all the best with your pregnancy!Smile

If in doubt, go bigger. Honestly, I'm on my second pregnancy and I've got every size from 34C to 36E- I just sling any random one on these days. As long as it's comfy.

Bravissimo are doing fittings by video call

I spoke to bravissimo yesterday and they advise going up one band size and two cup sizes to allow for milk coming in and also breast pads. Have an online chat with them, even if you buy elsewhere.

Try the bravado bodysilk seamless nursing bra - they're very stretchy and accommodate changing shape very well.

Can you measure yourself?

Persipan · 27/03/2020 12:31

There are some kinds that come in more of a small/medium/large/extra large range, which is what I've gone for for now. I can do my own measurements if it comes to it, so I'll use these ones to be going on with and re-evaluate later. (I dread to think what the results will be - I was an F cup to begin with!)

Find something you can wear home from the hospital and use the Reddit calculator abrathatfits after your milk comes in, then order online. If you are big enough to be uncomfortable without a bra, that calculator can change your life.

How many weeks would it be good to measure at that might be roughly accurate? I assume later the better, but with store deliveries in question I don’t want to leave it too long!

Thanks for the Bravado Body Silk recommendation - these look great!
